The Shadow Warrior release for Linux did miss out a few graphical features, but the developers have now implemented them all.

I’ve tested it out and wow, the performance with everything on Ultra is amazing. I was getting above 150FPS a lot on my Nvidia 970, and this is at 1920x1080 resolution. This is how you port a game folks! Can easily recommend it now.

The update did cause a few crashes, but the developers very quickly pushed out another. The game now runs flawlessly in my testing.

I've been waiting on my proper play through for these graphical features to arrived, so I am one happy chappy now.

About the game (Official)
Shadow Warrior is a bold reimagining of the classic 3D Realms’ shooter from independent developer Flying Wild Hog (Hard Reset) starring the legendary and quick-witted warrior Lo Wang. Combine the brute force of overwhelming firepower with the elegant precision of a katana to annihilate the merciless armies of the shadow realm in an exhilarating and visually stunning transformation of the classic first-person shooter.

Check out Shadow Warrior on Steam now.

Wow, that's really weird :/ It was listed as a Linux game when I bought it and the update played just fine yesterday.... very odd indeed.

I have to buy this game now! 150fps on a 970 @ Ultra is exactly what I want, because I'm an eye candy and refresh rate addict! MOAR, MOAR!

Liam, what display resolution are you using?

Hey guys I'm the guy in charge of the Mac and Linux ports. Glad it seems to be working great for most people, I put a lot of work into these ports. The Humble drmfree build should be updated soon and Flying Wild Hog will likely update the store page with the platforms soon as well. That said if you buy it on steam you will be able to play it on Mac and Linux they simply haven't enabled the icons on the store page. If you have any issues please feel free to voice them on the steam forums. Thanks for the article :-D!

Thank you for such an amazing job, Excellent quality. Looks like I've got the plans set for this weekend ;)

EDIT:

The DRM-Free version on Humble Bundle has been updated, graphically it's much more intense and the difference is noticeable from the first version. It also feels smoother frame rate wise, on my GTX 960 it runs on Ultra settings 1080p without a hitch. This IS one hell of a good port, I am not easily impressed by the performance of some Linux ports but this is something that totally blown me away.

So.....Flying Wild Hog, if it's not too much to ask - Hard Reset Linux port please? :D
