Storm United is a new first person shooter built in Unreal Engine that looks absolutely stunning. The developers have just released the game into early access, and we have some keys to help boost the player count.

About the game (Official)
Storm United is a class-based multiplayer First Person Shooter that aims to bring top tier fps fun and smooth sensations with the help of our unique procedural physically simulated weapon and camera movements tech. If you are a FPS fan, please try and feel it for yourself, we really worked a lot on the gameplay fluidity and hope you like it as much as we do!

Some notes
There is a little bit of micro stutter when firing now and then, but I haven't encountered it much. The developers are aware of it, and they told me they hope to push out a fix next week. There's also a crash bug on a particular map, the developers have already been notified and registered the bug on the Steam forum.

For me on an Nvidia 970 the game performs really well on the highest graphics settings, a near constant 60FPS. For a game that's new, and quite demanding, that's impressive.

I've been wanting a more tactical FPS on Linux, and Storm United really cool fit the bill for me quite well. The gameplay isn't slow, but it's nothing close to how fast games like Unreal Tournament can be, which for me is great.

The game really is beautiful, and it could turn into a serious contender in the FPS space. They even gained a grant from Epic Games directly, so I am excited to see how it can help them.

Originally all keys given before the Early Access release were going to be revoked, but the developers sent word earlier they have decided against it, and I feel it's a perfect decision to help their player count. Once the game leaves Early Access the developers plan to make it free to play, but without any pay to win features (customization). They may be revoked in future, so be warned.

I'd gladly appreciate a key, if it's still available.

So weird, the second map, at about 0:08 in the video, looks almost exactly like one of the main maps from Gear Up, an third person arena shooter.

How's the gameplay? Judging from the video it looks like a run 'n gun shooter. Or is it more a fun shooter with some tactical elements like, let's say, Battlefield Bad Company 2?

The aesthetic reminds me a lot of Halo, so it gives me all kinds of warm nostalgia fuzzies :P The game feels nice, but I'll reserve judgement until I can actual play with people. But while it feels polished, I don't know what the devs are on about with this 'sensation' stuff. There's nothing noteworthy I've seen about the movement system so far, you run, you gun (albeit not at the same time), and you jump. There are plenty of guns which are varied, but only a couple really stood out to me. However, they all feel pretty nice, it's clear a lot of work has gone into it; but I found the melee weapon kind of crap.

The performance seems good for day one of early access. With all setting on high I couldn't get it to drop below 60 FPS on my GTX 760, though I'm sure that'll change when multiplayer action is going on, especially on bigger maps. I mostly played with high textures and medium-low settings (although the game still looks great) and I'd get around 120 FPS when not doing much, but it jumps a lot (mind I still haven't caught it below 60) and there's definitely some stutter, but looks like they're on it. And as noted some maps don't work; BP_3 and Showcase crashes for me.

There's a lot of potential here, and the devs sound like they're really dedicated to giving us alt-OSers a good experience. It's too early to tell, but I hope they'll follow through :)

Hmm, I am stuck at the screen setting up my name, where
I cannot enter anything. Anybody else having / solved similar issues?

EDIT: Using Tab and Space I was able to enter a name and press the button. Next UI doesn't respond to mouse or keyboard :(

EDIT2: Seems to be a multi monitor issue. When I moved the mouse on the first monitor,
I noticed that UI elements get highlighted, and after moving the game on the first monitor,
all works well (issue reported).

If they're anymore keys, I'd like to get one myself.
