The Banner Saga developers tweeted out recently that the game is nearing the final stages for Linux! I know quite a few are waiting on it, so I'm happy to relay the news.

Good news! We're in the final phases of getting our #Linux build ready for release!

The Banner Saga (@StoicStudio) March 25, 2015

About the game (Official)
Live through an epic role-playing Viking saga where your strategic choices directly affect your personal journey. Make allies as you travel with your caravan across this stunning yet harsh landscape. Carefully choose those who will help fight a new threat that jeopardizes an entire civilization. Every decision you make in travel, conversation and combat has a meaningful effect on the outcome as your story unfolds. Not everyone will survive, but they will be remembered.

Check out The Banner Saga on Steam. Remember, do not buy it until the Linux version is released! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

This looks so cool! I'll probably pick it up when it comes out.

I loved the graphical style and the atmosphere of this game, the story was also fairly imaginative. However, I also felt it was too linear and the turn-based combat system was not among the better examples of its kind.

Still, nice to have another fairly high-profile/well-known title on linux.

I'll skip this unless it's heavily discounted (75%+ off). I was excited about the game at first but the lack of apparent progress on the Linux port combined with their shifting priorities (ipad port first, which wasn't even promised in the kickstarter) has soured me on the dev. Besides, I have a massive backlog of games as it is :)

I've been holding off playing it while I wait for the Linux version. I have a Steam version I got for free but if GOG gets the Linux version I'd buy it there.

Good - I'll probably be able to collect the final points for AMD awards and get it for free while playing Pillars of Eternity :). Just 360 more - should be able to do it before the Linux release.
