Jotun is the game where you face off against Norse mythological creatures in epic boss battles. The game is slated for a Linux release this fall and an alpha trailer was published last month.

Previously, the developer has released some early gameplay footage from the game on their YouTube channel, including one promising looking boss fight against a jotun.

The game was funded on Kickstarter last August, where it collected over $64K CAD of a $50K CAD goal. Linux was only promised when the $60K CAD stretch goal was reached, but the developer has promised on Reddit that the Linux build will get the same attention as the other platform versions, and that it will see a simultaneous release.

In addition to the Kickstarter money, the developers have also received funding from the Canadian Media Fund and the Montreal Inc Foundation to spend on developing the game. They still haven't wavered from their goal of releasing the game this fall, so hopefully we'll get to experience some epic Viking action on our Linux machines by the end of the year.

About the game (Official)

Jotun is a hand-drawn action-exploration game set in Norse mythology. In Jotun, you play Thora, a Norse warrior who has died an inglorious death and must prove herself to the Gods to enter Valhalla. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I like the hand-drawn style. I'll pay attention to it.

The alpha is rather polished but very, very, very short.
