Endless Legend was originally going to come to Linux, and then the developers decided it wasn't worth it. The Linux client had even been started and was looking good, but was dropped after the Windows and Mac OS clients were deemed too buggy. Now SteamOS has appeared in Amplitude's voting system for what to work on, and it needs votes.

You can vote for the SteamOS version here. It's beating the Steam Controller, but losing badly to Steam Workshop.

I would very much like to see it on Linux, so get voting.

Why not the three? I hope that chart is just to see which one to do first, but than the three of them will be done in the future.

Registered and voted as well. This needs a heck of a lot of attention. I had already given up on Amplitude, and now this. Amplitude is like a nasty former girlfriend who keeps giving you hope, then snatches it away. This on/off game is getting ridiculous.

There is no hope of surpassing Workshop but I voted for SteamOS anyway.

Not that I'm trying to be negative, although I usually am, but isn't voting for the Linux version to be developed first, at this point, counter-intuitive?

In the first place, if the other versions are so buggy and they work mostly on the Linux version instead, won't the game itself lose a large part of its user-base (according to the numbers listed on GOL), Windows-users? Bad ratings, even early on, can kill a game. If the game goes, the Linux version goes.

In the second place, if the game is so buggy, how does it help to develop the Linux version? Let the numerous Windows users deal with all the (sometimes potentially devastating) bugs, and when they polish it up, the Linux version will get a much more polished and stable version, with fewer bugs to fix. I would vote for Windows on the written agreement that they will make a Linux version, and a good one at that. Windows users are usually the impatient ones, while Linux users are usually pretty patient, or so I hope...

voted, but as i figured the steam workshop is winning by quite a bit... hopefully one day we might see a port.

...undecided.

At this point, I'm actually starting to lose interest in their games (or more accurately in anything produced by this studio). This latest "project", to arrange a vote where users who are pretty much inevitably a great majority of non-linux users, should vote whether to port the game to linux or do something that could directly benefit themselves instead....

I honestly can't decide whether to vote for a linux-port or write a mail explaining where they could shove their products.
