I've worked over the last few days in my coding cave to bring a new feature, a release calendar for Linux games!
You can find it here: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/index.php?module=calendar
Edit: Now with more ical: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/calendar_ical.php, tested with my own google calendar and works well.
This isn't the final design or feature list for it, and it will continue to evolve with the rest of the website.
If you click Submit Game on the page (only shows if you're logged in), you can send in games for us to add in it. It will slide down a little content section for you. We will manually approve all new entries of course to prevent spam submissions.
We currently only go back to 2014, but I may add in more previous years for historical purposes if wanted by many.
There's also the new block for it on the right hand side of the website, which will even tell you how many are still due each month.
If you have any general suggestions for it, fire away. Keep them sane please.
Thanks to our server admin Levi for some debugging, and thanks to editor flesk for adding some more games on top of my initial additions.

Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
The release calendar is a great addition to the site. It's so useful. In Steam's "Upcoming" list I cannot filter only the Linux games. I like the "Best Guess" feature too. So thanks Liam.

yay, nice!
Maybe an entry for the steambox, and/or its controller and streaming client may also find a place in there.
GTA V...Halo 7 and all the ubisoft games too ^_^

Thanks for the kind words folks, it grew out of my own personal desire to keep track of things a little easier, and my own personal calendar was filling up with non-life related stuff like games. So where better to move it than publicly to GOL? :)
I literally have no idea how it would work, but I'm more than happy to give it a go.
Quoting: ripperThis is great. Could you publish this also as an ical link, so that people can add it to their calendar applications and see it directly in it?

A wonderful initiative!
I've been keeping a text-file on the desktop to keep track of upcoming linux-titles, but this makes that pretty much redundant. There are numerous titles that I'd like to add to the calendar but unfortunately most of them lack even a rough estimate for when a linux version (or windows-version for that matter) might be released.
Hopefully, many of them can be added soon.

You could generate the calendar file client-side using something like https://github.com/nwcell/ics.js (I guess anyone could do this by scraping the page) or - better yet - find an ical generator for your backend scripting language. I've only done this in python and javascript, but there's bound to be a similar library for your language of choice.

The ical version is now up: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/calendar_ical.php
I've tested with a validator and it passes, it also works perfectly in my own google calendar, enjoy.
I'm hoping it will update properly when we edit items with the edit date field I added, you will have to let me know if it doesn't sync updates.

I've also just got around to make it sort by name properly for each day.

I have added a link in the calendar's link and description fields, so hopefully that will work and get people going were they want to go for more info on each game.
Don't know how it will look as my google cal hasn't updated yet, but I checked and it's a valid ical still, so depends how clients display them.

Yo Liam
Where are you going to put this Calendar?
Will it have a link on the main bar (DONATE, SALES, WIKI, etc.)? Cause IMO this feature deserve visibility and "stickness"
