If you own Don't Starve you will now have access to Don't Starve Together, the standalone multiplayer version!
I picked it up early personally out of curiosity, but it's good to see that all previous purchasers of the original can now join in on the fun.
They have more updates planned for it, so we will keep an eye on it for you. I fear this is going to suck a lot of my time away (in a good way of course).

I do own Don't Starve (and Together) so it is within the realm of possibility....

Does it work over LAN or only through some third party servers?

Based on their forum, this is only for the Steam version. When I bought Reign of Giants it didn't work at all for months after release, due to know bugs that they couldn't bother to fix. Klei's treatment of non steam platforms is pretty terrible, and the main reason I've skipped Invisible, Inc so far.
