Looks like GOG are getting in quick before the Steam summer sales start, and they have discounted plenty of great games.
There are some great offers on right now like:

And lots more!

Never bought a game on gog but does they provide a tarball/zip for the game or an installer?
Both. A .deb and a .tar.gz.

I wonder when are they going to release the Galaxy client...!

Most GOG Linux games come with a tarball archive, only the small ones have a deb + tarball. Also they come with some additional libraries for out of the box support and a simple "start.sh" script to play the game.

I'm not buying games that I can't redeem on Steam. I'll just wait for the summer sale.

I'm also not a GOG person either, I build my games library on steam (it's not very impressive yet, because I work on it :) ). But I do have Witcher 2 EE on GOG, and Deponia 1 (I've spent 0.0 euro on Witcher 2 and 0.50 euro on Deponia).
With the recent activity of CD Project regarding GOG Galaxy and great Witcher 3, I've decided to give GOG a try (but of course Galaxy is not even confirmed for Linux unfortunately). Especially that CD Project and CD Project Red is a polish company, and I come from Poland :)
Anyway, I've decided to buy Deponia bundle (GOG handles bundles very well - if You have some elements from the bundle in your library - they just sell You other elements from the bundle with the whole discount - which is kind of great), Apotheon and Shadow Warrior 2013 (which is now on sale).
I guess I will even try to get the free Stalker: Clear Sky - It is Gold on Wine and it looks like I am going to spend more money on Summer Sale.

I've already purchased 9 games + 2 DLCs so far. I'm less than $10 away from getting Xenonauts for free (I hope it works well with Wine). :)
Among this recent batch I must highlight Freedom Planet. I've only played a couple of levels, but boy does it take me back to my Sega Mega Drive days! Highly recommended if you've got fast-paced-16bit-platformer nostalgia.

After playing +12 hours of Freedom Planet, I have to say that I doubt Sega could even match it if they tried (honestly more impressive than Sonic mechanically; this coming from an ex-Sonic fanboy as a kid). It really is a top quality indie title that was swept under the radar from some youtube personalities. Luckily, the 1200+ overwhelming positive user reviews is gradually drawing people in. Also, can't wait for the extra content that they're working on (more playable characters). I believe one of them is coming out this summer and supposedly as a free update to who own the game.
As for GOG, I look forward to GOG Galaxy for Linux. There are quite a few classic games Steam doesn't have that I would like to grab. :)

I prefer to BUY my games on GOG, rather than RENT them on Steam... :)

They also gave me SimCity 2000. Not on Linux of course, but then it was free.

Glad to hear the port works well for you :) I already beat the game when I was on Windows and it was a pretty decent game for me there so I am glad to hear that the Linux port was also treated with care :)
