Just in case you've been living under a rock and haven't looked at Steam or social media I think it's good to remind you that the Steam Summer Sales have arrived. Yes, that means praising Gaben and emptying your wallet.

Just be careful about your purchases, the front page of the sales doesn't have platform icons. And even though buying games that have promised Linux ports might seem tempting, I'd like to ask you to avoid those purchases if possible and stick to games that already have Linux support. Even though our favourite penguin is no longer on Steam, it's good to keep in mind the old "no Tux no bux" mantra.

In any case, enjoy the sales and spend responsibly! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I'm a Linux gamer from Finland. I like reading, long walks on the beach, dying repeatedly in roguelikes and ripping and tearing in FPS games. I also sometimes write code and sometimes that includes hobbyist game development.

Samsai, the Outlast Whistleblower DLC for 1.79 Euros...!
You cannot possibly consider this too much for a decent angst!

I just bought a bunch of DLC for Europa Universalis IV. 49-cents for a sprite pack is a price I can live with.

Sorry, Samsai. Still busy with Borderlands 2. Nothing you can do, mate.

Quoting: GuestOh and this page on steamdb might be more practical than Steam itself to look for good deals.

Thank you! I prefer this over the front page of Steam. Much easier on the eyes. Whether it's less painful for my wallet, I couldn't say. o-o

I feel a great disturbance in the Source engine as if a million wallets were opened and suddenly emptied.

This is the first sale in many, many years (been an *active* member of steam since 2004) that I didn't buy anything yet. There are just a few games I'm really interested in at the moment and for some I'll have to wait until they are ported (hurry up, Feral, I'm waiting!)
