Planetary Annihilation is even more awesome now, and further shows Uber Entertainment is giving it great support. They have pushed out a massive new stable build recently, and it's great.

Galactic War is the single-player mode in Planetary Annihilation that sees you conquering system by system, and it didn't really work all that well before, but no more! This is mainly what this build has focused on, and it has needed it for quite some time.

No longer will you be given technology you can't use when exploring, the AI difficulty has improved, redesigned boss fights, and much more.

There are also other general fixes, incremental AI improvements, a Linux specific saved game fix, and many more fixes.

You can see the full changelog here.

Check out Planetary Annihilation on Steam. It's still easily in my top 5 favourite strategy games on Linux. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Their new kickstarter definitely came too early. It's sad on one hand because the idea of the new game looked great, but on the other hand they wanted to use the same engine AND improve it along the way (and backport!) BUT said only to support windows (how would that work?) if certain milestones would not be reached. I passed because of that very reason.

I still hope that monster game comes tho.

I suppose that you talk about an update that was released 2 weeks ago...

The game now is more playable, more easy and more fun

As I repeatedly stated all over twitter, I was without the internet for 1.5 weeks.

We tried PA a while ago and were somewhat disappointed. The camera stuck in a weird way and everything was so zoomed out it felt kindof boring. I was hoping it would be something like StarCraft BroodWar but I'm not sure what it was like.

Maybe after a long while it'll be fun but the problem is that I now have a preconceived idea that it sucks based on experience :(

Everything was zoomed out? You can zoom in and out at will with a simple mouse scroller...

It's nothing like Starcraft.
