Don’t let anyone tell you PC gaming is dying, well Steam isn’t at least. Steam hit a new all-time high for concurrent users online.
Steam has just hit a new record of (over) 10 million concurrent users. https://t.co/D6WDHbz0B4 pic.twitter.com/8WEpFwHXQa

It’s not really surprising that they reached this new high during a sale though, as I can imagine plenty of people logging in who haven’t for a long time to snap up a cheap game they wanted.
It’s still great news all around, and I’m sure Valve are loving this. It could reach even higher when Steam Machine/SteamOS releases, as we may see people who didn’t use Steam before as well.
We have Valve to thank for all the games we are getting, so let’s hope the momentum continues all around for both Linux and Steam.

i thought that stat meant game players, as in people playing a game. Kinda disappointed if it's just ppl who have their client on.

I'll be interested in watching the percentage of linux users go up once they reach the market. What will the percentage be in 5 years time? Anyone care to hazard a guess? 40%, I'd bet.
