Alien: Isolation is a terrific horror game, and a franchise I get extremely excited for. Alien: Isolation is also one of the few "Alien" based games that wasn't a let down.
I actually played it on PS4, but I got rid of my copy quite a while ago and never finished it. Honestly, I found it far too scary (that's a good thing). It really does deliver, and it looks like it will come to Linux.
Thanks to SteamDB:
As always, this isn't an official confirmation, but good supporting evidence towards a port!
About the game (Official)
HOW WILL YOU SURVIVE?
Discover the true meaning of fear in Alien: Isolation, a survival horror set in an atmosphere of constant dread and mortal danger. Fifteen years after the events of Alien™, Ellen Ripley’s daughter, Amanda enters a desperate battle for survival, on a mission to unravel the truth behind her mother's disappearance.
As Amanda, you will navigate through an increasingly volatile world as you find yourself confronted on all sides by a panicked, desperate population and an unpredictable, ruthless Alien.
Underpowered and underprepared, you must scavenge resources, improvise solutions and use your wits, not just to succeed in your mission, but to simply stay alive.
Check out Alien: Isolation on Steam, but don't you dare buy it until the Linux version is out. Don't let yourself be disappointed if it turns out not to be true.

It's a fantastic game. Really scary. I played the PS4 version, it gives a real sense of accomplishment to complete, but also strangely relief that you don't need to be scared any more! I hope the port is good.

Sega has brought us Football Manager, Empre: Total War, and The Cave. Total War: Rome II, Total War: Attila, and Total War: Warhammer have been confirmed for Linux as well.Sega is already the best Japanese company when it comes to bringing games to Linux.Which games? I wasn't aware they have ported any of their own games to Linux, as in the Sonic series. I thought Sega have only been publishers so far.

Regarding who would develop this port. Does anyone know who made the Outlast port, which was also featured in a Humble Bundle? Outlast and this game is made in the same engine by the same studio.
Therefore it would not surprise me if this port is made the same way as Outlast. No matter who does it, if it will be anything like the Outlast port it will be native, have great gamepad support and perform great.
Unfortunately though, I too won't dare enjoy any of this. :P Maybe with a friend present?
EDIT: Okay, it would seem the engine completely differs and the developers too it appears. Very confusing since I have in fact seen an interview with the developers of this game, which seemed to indicate otherwise. Oh well, no big deal.
And kellerkindt, you beat me to it (same link and all) :)

Isn't Alien Isolation running on Cryengine?
Maybe they are able to release a Linux version because of Cryengine 3.8.1 and its Linux support?
just curios...
EDIT: its not Cryengine: http://forums.alienisolation.com/forum/main-category/main-forum/80-game-engine

Weren't those sales calculated from the platform of purchase? Anyway, I'll defend and make peace with myself by promising I'll buy another copy if the Linux version ever appears :)

As far as we know, porting houses get paid for the purchases made for the target platform *after* the port has been released. Not before that. It would be slightly different if it was an in-house port, in which case the right people would get the money. But since, based on the recent Feral teaser, Alien: Isolation is being handled by a third party you'd end up depriving them of the money they rightfully deserve if you are buying the game for the Linux port.

Dammit, what an awful system but I guess it makes some sense in a capitalist way. It would be nice to have a confirmation if this is indeed the case. Anyway, double buy it is then.
