Aspyr Media Are Teasing A New Launch Tomorrow

By -

You like new ports right? Well Aspyr Media have something up their sleeves for tomorrow, looks like we could be busy.

Posting on their facebook was this:

Hey! Do you like video games? Because we’re launching something new for our Mac and Linux users tomorrow!

Posted by Aspyr Media on Monday, 20 July 2015

Oh boy! Begin wild speculation. What do you think it will be you fine Linux gamer folk?

I'm always impressed by the quality of Aspyr ports, and I'm sure this will be no different.

It's Skyrim.

Just had to throw that out there. :D

Can I just state that I really dislike it when the sequels are released for Linux, but the first one is not? If it's KOTOR 2, we'd have that, and Witcher 2 (eventually Witcher 3) etc. Starting to remind me of the 90s, where the Atari ST and 8-Bits had Phantasie 1-3, but the Amiga only got 1 and 3.

Hmm what else can I dream about...

Hell will freeze over before Nintendo, masters of gaming as a prison, ever release a title on Linux.

Oof, harsh one, but true.

So long as it's something new for Linux, with no waiting, I'm excited. :)

Some Depots have appeared for Kotor2 in the steamdb - looks confirmed :-)

Edit: well not new, but looks likely this is it.

What about Evolve, do we know who's porting that? That's also a MAC/Linux port.

VP did the Witcher 2 port certainly; I must admit I do think that the W3 port would be internal though I would be more than happy if it was Asypyr or Feral even. I did enquire with CDPR about the W3 steamos / Linux version at the end of June and the response was that they were working on a SteamOS version but had no announced date as it was still a work in progress. But there was no clues as to if it was inhouse or with an external porting company.

Still I can dream :)

Shouldn't a VP port be way easier then this?
