DiRT Showdown is a good looking racer that is now officially confirmed for Linux, and it is available to pre-order.
We didn't know who was doing the port before today, but a tweet just sent out by Virtual Programming confirms it's true, and that you can pre-order it from their store.
The game will officially release on the 7th of August according to their store, no reason to doubt it as VP own that store.
Note: We advise never to pre-order anything, ever. The main news here is the game is confirmed.

How do you feel about this? Their porting has improved a lot that's for sure.

I hope it will be much more stable for me than The Witcher 2 for which I'm stuck at some level because the game crashes.
Stronghold 3 was very stable for me, Bioshock Infinite was also fine but it crashed from time to time.

keep'em coming guys! although showdown seems to be all about special/gymkhana events which is not my cup of tea, it's good to see major titles being ported to 'our' platform. hoping we will see 'dirt rally' running on linux one day too ;-)

"Pre-order: This product is currently unavailable and you will not be charged until the day of release. Your order will appear on your account as a pre-order and can be cancelled at any time."
sounds fair.
I already have the game though (probably from some bundle).
btw: Release Date: 07 Aug 2015
VP games work very fine for me btw. Of course 100% native port are prefered, but
better a wrapper port for a 2012 game than nothing

really?
The only realistic chance we have of older games being ported quickly and cheaply is for EON/VP. Its not a trend for new titles, most AAA are native and when Vulcan is out they probably all will be.
would you turn down a near perfect port of Skyrim using Eon with full workshop compatibility ?

Im up for this i think wrappers are ok for old releases. Hopefully Vulkan will change everything and we will finally forget about wrappers.
