Gunscape is a mix of first-person shooting, and world building that will be launching out of Early Access on September 9th!

What has me interested is the fact that levels can be shared between PC and Console players, I like seeing convergence like that, as it rarely happens. Also, being able to string a bunch of levels together to make a full campaign sounds fun too, depending on how much you can customize.

Quick thoughts
I tried it out, as the premise is quite interesting and I used to love jumping about in Quake, but the game has some bugs.

I had a gamepad plugged in on first launch and it picked it up, but the controls didn't work correctly. It let me look up, and then stopped letting me look around at all, and then the movement stick stopped working too. After unplugging and relaunching, it still thinks my gamepad is attached and the keyboard input won't work correctly either.

I was able to connect to one server, but when I tried connecting to another, it loaded, loaded some more and nothing happened. I tried to stop it, but it refused. It popped up a box behind the loading server panel to say connection failed, but I couldn't select it, and had to force quite the game.

Not the smoothest of attempts to try a game that's for sure.

About the game (Official)
Inspired by the first-person shooters of the past that we loved, we're taking all the most memorable elements and putting them in a toolkit to be used and combined however you want. At its heart, Gunscape is an FPS construction kit. It's a game that lets you go wild with your creativity in a pumping action sandbox! Gunscape does this by providing easy-to-use tools based on a block-placement interface everybody's already familiar with to create single-player campaigns, co-op maps and multiplayer arenas and the functionality to share your creations with your friends. Don't like building stuff and just want to blast your way through hordes of monsters or duel with other players? Maps can also be shared, played and voted on by the whole world, so you'll always have new levels at your fingertips!

It's currently available for free on Steam right now though, but it seems they have work to do before the full release. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Actually, I am a bit disappointed; steam machines support up to 16 controllers :-P

Just kidding. But it would be nice to have things such as bomberman with support for a lot of controllers.

This one looks interesting; the visuals remind me Minecraft a lot, but prettier (not for mobs, though. They look ugly. Is there any reason for this?)
