You know, I'm slowly starting to run out of witty comments about the arrival of Friday. So, to avoid silly jokes about silly pop songs I'm going to keep it simple and welcome one of the greatest moments of the week, weekend. And along with that comes the regular Friday Livestream.

Highlights:

Watch live video from GamingOnLinux on www.twitch.tv

There haven't been any particularly interesting new releases this week so we are going to have to resort to older games. For this week I'm going to keep the game choices open for your feedback* but I'm planning on playing some Victor Vran because we couldn't do that last week. During the livestream I will ask you for ideas on what to play, so make yourself heard by joining the chat on Twitch side.

So that's that. Have a nice evening and an enjoyable weekend!

I'm a Linux gamer from Finland. I like reading, long walks on the beach, dying repeatedly in roguelikes and ripping and tearing in FPS games. I also sometimes write code and sometimes that includes hobbyist game development.

Please stop embedding Twitch viewer in the articles, give just a link. If you don't have Flash installed, it pops up a download dialog in Firefox with a swf file, and that drives me crazy. Twitch deserves to be boycotted for that.

No, not really. I don't have Chrome on desktop (and I'm not sure the integrated Flash can be even disabled), but I tested on Android and it automatically runs a media player (VLC in my case) to try to play the swf file. Of course it can't, so it ends after a second and flickers back to the browser. So it's even worse, because the file is automatically executed (wow, that's what I call a security hole). So browsing articles like these (with Twitch included) from a mobile device is even worse experience than desktop Firefox with no Flash.

This even bugs me in my RSS reader.

So, I'm not saying this is GOL fault, it seems Twitch is to blame equally as browser developers, but the end result is that every article with Twitch embedded here on GOL, makes it an unpleasant reading experience. For mobile users and desktop users without Flash.

I'm not using Flash either, I just hit escape as soon as the swf file dialog pops up, I don't see any problem there but I guess everyone has their own opinion about things like that ;)

(I chose to not install flash and it gives all sorts of trouble so I'm fine with it :P )

Btw thanks for the livestream, I had a blast watching Samsai destroy himself in Distance :)
