The game takes place in a place called Frostmourn Keep and its underlying dungeons located in the World's End Mountains. The goal is to overthrow the current king of the Frostmourn Keep and become the new king.
- Classless character building where you can be the kind of rogue you want.
- Seemingly unfair, untimely and unforgiving deaths which are also permanent.
- Ways to counter these deaths by learning the game mechanics.
- Random dungeons and encounters.
- 24 talents to build your character with.
- 30 spells to build your character even further.
- 60 heritages that make your next character stronger.
- 30 challenges to complete once you get the hang of the game.

A lot of reviews complain that the randomness of the game is brutal, even for a roguelike. Hopefully the author will do some balancing work.

I read randomness. Yay, won't buy.
Randomly dying has nothing to do with skill.
It's like those overpowered random bosses that very rarely appear in tales of Maj Eyal that break the game.
Suddenly a single foe is 5 times stronger than anything encountered before and theres no way around him.
It would be nice if rogue likes would simulate through the generated run to see if it is passable at all.
Playing for hours/days and then dying to a ridiculously overpowered encounter without a chance just feels like being kicked between the legs without reason.

Quoting: ZanvalIt would be nice if rogue likes would simulate through the generated run to see if it is passable at all.The problem is that most of them don't generate areas until you first enter them, and some even regenerate areas every time you visit, or generate different areas depending on your actions during the game.

They ought to just be smarter about generating things that are balanced.

I don't know... what's worse, a game that is randomly creating a boss that is a pain to beat? Or a game like Dark Souls 1/2 and Bloodborne, that are just a pain in the ass on purpose. I still can't kill that first big hairy beast in Bloodborne, and there isn't any weapon / armor upgrades I can get beyond what I have, so I'm stuck constantly trying to defeat the Cleric Beast.

It's not a question of weapon & armor upgrade. You also need to find the weakspot and the right tactic to defeat the beast.
Hint: Weakspots: arms & legs.
