Submerged was pointed out to us in our forum, and it seems the developers are considering a Linux version, and even testing it right now. The game looks beautiful, so I hope it does come.

QuoteHi,

I don't want to promise anything as we have not fully tested the Linux version of the game yet, and there are still some outstanding issues we need to resolve before we can decide if it can be released or not.

With that disclaimer out of the way, Submerged is built on UE4, and we do have a Linux build of the game running with OpenGL on Ubuntu and SteamOS.

No solid release plan yet, as things like Havok Physics are not working, so there is still a lot more work to do before we can evaluate it fully.

About the game (Official)
Submerged is a third-person combat-free game in which you explore a mysterious flooded city and discover the beauty of desolation in vast outdoor environments. You take on the role of Miku, a young girl who has brought her wounded brother to the city in their small fishing boat. Navigate the flooded city streets by boat, scale the drowned buildings, and use your telescope to scour the city for the supplies needed to save your dying sibling. As you explore the city at your own pace, you encounter the habitat that flourishes in this colorful place and discover hidden objects that piece together the story of a broken world and a broken family.

Looks pretty fab, I hope they manage to sort the issues to bring out a Linux version. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I hope so too, but right now it does not sound very reassuring. Experience tells me not to get excited about this.

Looks beautiful and interesting. I will absolutely buy it if there is a Linux version.

I saw a review of this on Good Game a few weeks back and it looks pretty interesting... I'd get the game if it were to come to Linux-based operating systems.

But, one should never buy a game until they're actually available for Linux-based operating systems, so I'll wait and see what happens...

Looks pretty cool. I would love to see this come to Linux because there are so few pure exploration games out there.

Looks beautiful, not really interested in keeping my brother alive by searching for supplies though, I'm more of the keeping-my-brother-alive-by-gunning-down-hordes-of-monsters or the keeping-my-brother-alive-by-solving-one-puzzle-after-another type of person. I will take a look at some gameplay videos before saying a definite "no" though.

Looks superb. It reminds me of Enslaved, which I loved, from back in my PS3 days. Minus the combat of course.

Oh wow, Submerged might be headed to Linux? I'm totally in! I saw the trailer for this a few months back and it has that Ico vibe I've been wanting for ages now.

Not a Day One purchase though. Cradle taught me not to trust.

What's wrong with Cradle (apart from a tighter-than-it-should-be FOV)? I thought it was getting generally good feedback.
