The Talos Principle: Road to Gehenna is the official name of the new DLC coming on July 23rd, I really need to play the first part sometime. I know Talos is highly rated, but something about it just hasn't hooked me into buying it yet.

“The original plan was to divide The Talos Principle: Road to Gehenna into over 100 different $5 DLCs but the Devolver Digital DLC Ethics Department advised against it,” noted Devolver Digital CFO Fork Parker. “That particular department has subsequently been disbanded.”

If you like puzzle games then you should definitely play it, Liam. I consider The Talos Principle to be the best puzzle game since Portal, it's fantastic. Also, it's beautiful and runs great on Linux.

That's the problem, I don't really enjoy puzzle games all that much, even if it does have fancy pants graphics.

Yeah, I loved The Talos Principle, and I'm really looking forward to this one. Was even about to write up an article on it over an unstable 4G connection, but luckily, Liam beat me to it. :) The same announcement on Croteam's website has a bunch of gorgeous screenshots.

Seriously, play the demo on the steam page. It will give you go idea of what the gameplay and story is like. It should give you clear indicator on whether you like the game or not.

The Talos Principle is one of the best puzzle games that I ever had the pleasure of playing, so this DLC will be a no-brainer for me. It's not a game to rush though, especially if you choose to read all the (often) philosophical text too.

A nice thing about The Talos Principle is that it's non-linear (until the very end), so if you get stuck on a puzzle you can go do other stuff for a while and maybe when you come back to it later your brain can clear the hurdle it couldn't get past, or maybe you'll do something in a different puzzle that will help you clear the hurdle in the puzzle you got stuck on. This is in contrast to linear games like Portal, where if you get stuck you're stuck in that spot until you clear that mental hurdle.

Oh my gosh! The Talos Principle is absolutely amazing! You simply *must* try the demo, liamdawe. Even if you can't stand puzzle games, other people have said the same and still managed to enjoy this awesome game. The scenery and intrigue alone is worth it, even if you need to resort to walk-throughs. And unlike Portal, this game will seriously make you think. This is probably the only game I've seen with quotes from diverse folks like G. K. Chesterton, William Blake, and Cicero. Who does that?
Simply the best game of 2014, hands down.
