Victor Vran is now content complete with the latest patch, and it has a full release date now too. This is an action RPG not to miss out on folks.
I've had a silly amount of fun with it, and think you will too.
See the new trailer:
The game will release in full on the 25th of July, and it will even see a DRM free release on GOG. This is great news, as I was hoping it wouldn't be tied to Steam.
You can see my most recent thoughts on Victor Vran here. I haven't tested the newer content though, and there's a lot of it!
You can pick up Victor Vran right now on Steam, or wait for the full release on GOG.

I'm playing it quite a lot already. Nice game so far. Controller support is great!
Only one problem I have with dual screen. On my TV game don't want to start, but on laptop display works great. I found workaround. To start game in window - then it works on TV as well.

I've got over 40 hours in this game already. It's a straightforward ARPG that's pretty, fun, and addictive. The developers have been very communicative with the players, often implementing players ideas into the game with the very next patch (how Early Access is supposed to work). The controller support is smooth and intuitive.
Buying this game to show support for Linux was a no-brainer for me. I cannot praise the devs or their efforts highly enough and urge my Linux comrades to seriously give this game a look.

I'm impressed that this is Early Access, runs really well so far (I've only played about 45 min)
Works for me on a desktop with monitor and TV connected. I put steam on the TV, went into Big Picture mode (fullscreen on TV), and started the game. Came up fullscreen on the TV.
I played with Dualshock4, works without issues, though button prompts are for xbox controller. Not sure if I prefer controller or kb&m for this. But the comfy couch gaming is definitely a plus!

What engine does it use?

What engine does it use?
It uses the same in-house engine as Tropico 5. It runs very well on my rig. I've tested it on both a GTX 660 and 970 with most or all settings maxed, 1080@60fps. When you play it, you can tell it's not a third-party port. It feels right at home on Linux.

It will be purchased. I do however wish more rpgs would be running 3rd person perspective... It's more immersive then imo. More fun to explore too.

Nice. I'll most likely scoop it up once it's fully release. I could use a new loot em up (I prefer to call these types of games loot em ups, as I feel they bear more resemblance to a beat em up than they do to a cRPG), I've pretty much played as much Torchlight 2 as I can play for a while.

As a GOG only user this means they've got more 1 sale here :-)

Yay! The game is getting released DRM free on GOG.com as well? That's great news!
Judging from the gameplay videos I've seen so far the game looks pretty repetitive and monotonous. But I'll probably pick it up anyway. It still looks like a fun game.

I'd buy it instantaneously if they wouldn't force a premade male character down my throat for no good reason other than being too cheap to fund a proper character editor.

Cool, releasing on GOG! I was just about to buy it too, but I'll just wait a little longer.

Finally, a Diablo-type game that looks and plays like Diablo 3. I'm in!
Purchased! Thanks for the heads up, Liam!

That's how I feel about ARPGs in general, ever since I played Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance. It's fun, sure, but sort of boring after a little while. Repetitive.
I picked up this game and played for a couple hours, it looks good, it plays good, but it's still an ARPG. I'd better try playing on hard to keep it interesting.

Is the GOG version confirmed ? It's not on the site yet.
Nevermind, they updated the GOG version to include Linux now.

Finished the game (takes about 10h)... it's actually better played with a Xbox360 controller and the game is very linear and easy (except for some of the boss battles that can be frustratingly hard). Inventory and item stuff is also somewhat lacking... basically you can only find other weapons, and the item upgrade system (while relatively complex in design) almost never makes sense to use.
Had fun with it, but Torchlight2 is by far the better ARPG. If the Hellsing games finally make it over to Linux, I would also recommend those over VV, as they have some interesting innovations to the game-play.
Would give it a 7/10.
