It's no secret that I'm a little in love with Victor Vran, and it's now out of Early Access so be sure to pick up a copy.
I gave it some thoughts back in May, and found it to be excellent. Since then it's had plenty of new content added into the game, and they aren't stopping at this stable release. The developer has already mentioned more content to come, and that's awesome.
To celebrate I recorded a new video of me kicking butt. It seems that I had to re-pick my level-up perks, so you get to see the level up system in action for eight levels at once! I'm also using a mix of mouse and gamepad at the same time, as I found gamepad to be much nicer for combat, but the mouse is far quicker for the inventory screen.
Skip to 11 minutes for the boss fight

I'm still incredibly impressed by the performance of the game, considering it was super smooth on high settings, even while recording gameplay.
Honestly, this is the most fun I've had in an action RPG since Diablo 2, although it still feels quite different overall. The fact that it has day-1 release support, and even builds during Early Access makes me really love Haemimont Games. They actually gifted us a key (without me asking) after I already purchased it personally, which makes me love them again some more. That key was sent onto Samsai who has shown it off in our livestreams.
Check out Victor Vran on Steam now.
The good news is that even if the game is released they will add a FREE DLC and also a COOP Mode..
I have personally asked them for Arenas and PVP content during early access and they have added it in the next patch :D
They are listening to the community and is one of the few games I would highly recommend ...

ahh and here a screenshot of my Legendaries (show off) :D

I also really appreciate how communicative the devs are. When I asked about the Linux version not being on GOG, they replied within an hour. It's nice to see them actually talking to the Linux community.

I thought I was getting along nicely, but now I feel underfunded and ill-equipped. :o
I haven't even played any multiplayer, does your equipment from single player carry over, or do you start from scratch?

Multiplayer is easier and much more fun than soloing if you have a good friend to go with.....
Random multiplayers are a bit meh...and yes you start at the same level as you are on single player :)

OK, thanks! I think I'll just keep playing offline. Maybe once I get some better gear I'll try out some online.
I have to admit that I am a little disappointed that the game isn't available for Linux on GOG.com. I was really looking forward for it and it would've been a day one purchase. I hope that the Linux version will make it eventually to GOG.com too.
I'm disappointed too. When it was under the future release tab on GOG, the Linux icon was present.

It seems they are working on it. From [/r/linux_gaming](https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/comments/3eft7n/victor_vran_released_from_early_access/ctel7y9):
The Steam Linux build relies heavily on the Steam runtime to smooth over differences between different Linux distros. We'll need some time to get the game running without it. Sorry!.
They'll also have a [Q&A on Monday on GOG](http://www.gog.com/forum/general/release_victor_vran_92633)
Have questions about the game that only the devs can answer? Join the team behind Victor Vran for a special Q&A session this coming Monday!During the twitch stream on Friday they said that would be a good time to ask about the Linux version on GOG, since they said it was too technical to discuss during the stream.
Boyan (Lead Designer) and Momchil (Designer) from Haemimont Games will be visiting our forums on Monday (July 27) starting 6pm GMT (8pm CEST / 2pm EST / 11am PST to answer all your questions about the game, the life behind game development, or their favorite type of sandwich. Save the date, stay tuned for the announcement thread, and come hang out with us.
Can u create your character in this game, and is gender amongst the options?
No, you are Victor Vran. The game is about him.
About the Steam runtime and GOG: Does Valve disallow use of the runtime outside Steam? I thought it was just a collection of custom built open source libraries. Can't Haemimont Games simply depend on the runtime in their GOG build or alternatively copy over the needed libraries from the runtime package?

Aha. Thanks, Liam.
Looks fun. Wishlisted for now.

Uber has it packed on the Planetary Annihilation retail disc for Linux, whether Valve knows about it or not, or if they would have a problem with another company using their (free open source) runtime, I don't know.
They're promising some really awesome free DLC, like a randomly generated map and local Co-op. This great game will only get even better with time.
Awesome to hear it is out of EA and working well. I'm pretty sure this is right up my alley so I will be snatching this up as soon as I get home!
Finally got home and got this up and running about an hour ago. It runs well and I'm enjoying it so far. I had the controls set to action at first but I ended up switching to mouse movement. I probably could have adjusted to WASD movement and mouse attacks, but this game just begs to be a click fest IMO.
I have all of the settings cranked up and it mostly maintains 60fps but some of the "special effects" tend to tank the frame rate enough to force it down to 30fps for a bit due to using vsync. Even with only one of my 970's working in Linux it still plays @ 5760x1080 really well since it's not exactly a graphically demanding game. I loaded it @ 1920x1080 just to see if maybe the frame rates didn't tank on some of those "special effects" but it is exactly the same as the wider res. I need to get some sleep but when I play tomorrow I'll try changing the CPU governor from "powersave" to "performance" while playing it to see if that helps any since I noticed this games doesn't push my CPU into higher clocks too often.
In case you haven't noticed, the voice of Victor Vran is the same voice as The Witcher. You're welcome. :)
It is isn't it! I thought the voice sounded familiar!

Just had a 40 minute blast on it, man it gets intense at times!

And that's the only thing that keeps me from buying this game. It looks great otherwise. :S

Might be a bold statement, but I'm 90% sure you'll forget the lack of character creation and gender option if you just give it a chance. It's too good to miss out.
See more from me
