Volo Airsport is a rather difficult game about gliding through the air, and we have some keys for you lovely Linux gamers. I've tested it out personally and it's quite difficult, hilariously difficult. It will take a while to get the hang of it, as the control scheme is pretty unique.

It's in Early Access, so we will give it some full thoughts at release, or once there's some more to it if the release is far off.

About the game (Official)
Volo Airsport is for those who fly like birds whenever they close their eyes.

Take to the skies and fly past mountains in a wingsuit. Try to hug the cliffs at over 250 km/h or cruise at high altitudes and admire the scenery.

Your body and gear are fully physically simulated. You fly by controlling your character's muscles directly, which changes your pose, which interacts with the air around you. You can see, hear, and feel every gust of wind as you pass it.

Keys to give away
Just answer me this: Why do you want to fly like a bird?
I will pick winners during next week.

Competition is over!

Check out Volo Airsport on Steam now if you can't wait.

Quite obvious:
I wanna get better at tricking gravity! I've never got the knack of missing the ground when throwing myself at it - although I can be easily distracted, in those situations it seems that I just have no luck.
A pair of wings would improve this situation very much!
Any other tips for a novice-flyer? I heard about those clubs mentioned in the Guide but never found one :-(

Because I want to go higher, and soar majestically like a candy wrapper caught in an updraft. Faster, I say!
I want to soar faster than any man has every soared!
I want to look down on the clouds with contempt.
I want to sneer at God's creation, and spit on his... *fails to dodge the virtual ground*

Did you try it with a controller / gamepad, or mouse and keyboard? Is it playable with mouse and keyboard at all?

I want to fly like a bird... because it seems slightly more enjoyable than flying like a refrigerator. And a lot safer. But I definitely don't want to fly like an irate avian (trade mark deftly avoided, phew), as I hear they tend to smash into things and explode a lot.

Man-made vehicles can't compete for manoeuvrability and stealth at very low speeds, and insects are too slow and generally only fly at a much lower altitude. For the best flying experience, fly like a bird.

I want to fly like a bird because it would be wonderful to leave all of my worries behind and sail peacefully through the air.

I want to fly like a bird because I'm Tux, the Linux Penguin mascot, and I'm tired of science telling me that I can't fly.

Maybe I'll be able to when more Steam games are ported to Linux...

Because I've never had that dream were I can fly like other people does
Projectile Vomit Jul 26, 2015
I want to fly like a bird because because it's more of a knack than an art, really. I will be able to do this because I understand the concept of throwing myself at the ground and missing. I've read books.

Because R. Kelly convinced me that I can fly, now I only need a access to Volo Airsport.

I am a very big person, I am not fat just muscly. So jumping is very difficult so I can't reach great heights all on my lonesome. And I have only ever flew on a plane once and it was only for an hour.

i played with controller and it works great. note that it has very steep learning curve which is one of the things i like most in this game. it's not something you just get into. i'd suggest watching the video tutorial as 1st thing you do. it will spare you a lot of deaths which only happen until you realize difference between plane and gliding

about keyboard and mouse i can just speculate, but based on how much work was done on being able to customize controls... it shouldn't be any worse than controller. and it is even more so since this is Unity game where controller is usually terrible. developers really did their job

also, why do i want to fly? because sliding on my belly in Tuxracer needed upgrade after so many years ;) it is first game with speed done correctly after tux
