About the game (Official)
About: Naija is a lonely sea creature who has called a small stretch of water her home for as long as she can remember. But a strange encounter awakens her from her life, which has seemed like a dream. Suddenly, emotions she has never felt before are released, and she cannot bear to stay. She realizes that there is a world out there she has never known, and she longs to discover new waters.
By singing songs, Naija can weave her unique gift - the Verse - to change the world around her. With each song she learns comes new abilities that will help her reach new areas, combat ferocious sea creatures, and ultimately discover the truth about herself. Along the way, she'll make time to cook food, ride seahorses, and perhaps even fall in love!
I've tested it out, and buying it will give you access to a 199mb tar.gz file to extract the game wherever you please. Almost everything works as you would expect it, but there is no alt+tab support as the port is a little on the old side now.
Check out Aquaria on GOG.com.

Fun game, I played it a few years back. It's essentially underwater Metroid, for anyone wondering.

I have it from HumbleBundle.
Good to see on GoG.com too.

Still haven't finished it (had to compile it manually for 64 bit at the time), and I don't remember where I was and what I was doing… Now I'm scared to run it (^ ^)'

Got it from Humble a few years ago (and therefore have it both DRM-free and on Steam for all 3 major platforms) and also have it on Android from somewhere. It went on the back burner, though, because I got stuck at the beginning of the game when I first tried it. I really need to give it another try, but it's not even at the top of my Metroidvania to-do list at this point (Cave Story+ and possibly VVVVVV are ahead of it).

What's your game's version? Our Linux version is at 1.1.3 and runs just fine on 64-bit Linux systems, no assembly required :)

Yet another game stuck in my ever growing backlog.

I can confirm that. I just bought it from GOG and am running Kubuntu 14.04 64bit. I haven't run it for long, but it seems smooth and it detects my (knockoff) wireless 360 controller without problem.
Thanks GOG for continuing to support Linux! I can't wait until Galaxy will handle my Linux game updates...

That was Humble version long ago. It didn't have 64-bit binary at the time %)

Quoting: GuestFor the humble version (also at 1.1.3) you had to have the 32bit versions of libraries installed on 64bit systems (then, who hasn't?) - maybe GOG has them packed in their package?
Or you could search for icculus (AFAIR) code and compile that. Although it failed on newer distributions and you had to add #include <unistd.h> in Joystick.cpp manually for it to work.

Got Aquaria on a 64-bit Ubuntu 14.04 on AMD with 15.7 propietary drivers and I'm getting a libGL error like this:
I'm totally lost on how to fix it because it seems I need to link some library to another but can't understand which, threads indicate how to do it with Nvidia cards but I haven't found anything concrete on AMD cards. I'm sure the answer is out there but I'm at work now so I can't try anything.
The game is playable but it has stutters and looks like the CPU is doing all the job :( I also cannot play on fullscreen.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
