I'm pretty excited about Dying Light: The Following, as the basic gameplay in Dying Light was really fun, and I need more.
I'm still hoping they work on the Linux version stability some more, and work on the performance too like they said they would be.
About the DLC (Official)
Dying Light: The Following is a massive expansion to Dying Light and the untold chapter of Kyle Crane’s story. Take to a vast new area that will transform your Dying Light experience through new game mechanics, environments and challenges on top of the established core of what made the game a break away success for millions of players around the globe.

Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Until they revisit the performance and really nail that extra 15-% 20% im not buying it im afraid. For one the price is still too damn high ( insert meme ) and for another .. well see the first bit.
if VP can get the witcher 2 running the same and in some instances faster than native windows within an emulated wrapper ( crazy magic stuff I don't even understand how ?) then Techland should be able to get some native performance similar to how it should be on other platforms.
just some work, that's all.. nothing major but another 15% - 20% FPS and same for the price drop.

I agree that the performance is not ideal. It seems that decreasing the resolution makes no (noticeable) difference so the game must be vertex or CPU bound or there is a weird dependency issue (or maybe something else?). I hope they will invest some more time to fix it.

Sweet, I am definitely looking forward to this. The performance is less of an issue for me since I have a highly overpriced video card (Titan X) and can brute force a playable framerate out of the game, but I would still appreciate increased performance. I thoroughly enjoyed the base game, minus the garbage final boss fight, and the prospect of running over zombies in a dune buggy is appealing.

I presume a "story-focused DLC" means more:
"Hey guy, we need duct tape over in a [seriously infected area] or otherwise we're all going to die, but there's no one to get it because everyone died from a lack of duct tape," says generic NPC #349 (with an Australian accent for some reason) quite suggestively.
"Well, I volunteer for this extremely dangerous and somewhat pointless fetch quest," says generic main character (you can tell he's the main character because he's American) with no distinguishable personality traits except a disturbingly Freudian desire to please people.
"OH NO, please don't put your life at risk for our sakes," says generic NPC #349 unconvincingly whilst pulling out a cigar and sitting on a giant armchair made entirely of duct tape. "Also, there's [generic problem] so you'll also have to [something else pointless] in [generic middle eastern city] so hop to it."
"No problem, I aim to please apparently"
[22 hours later]
"Oh you're back. We really need wallpaper now, the building's looking a bit worse for wear with all the zombie infestation and stuff or something and we'd really like to make it look FABULOUS. The zombie apocalypse is no reason to appear uncouth now is it"
"No problem, I aim to please"

Dead Island and Dying Light are fun games, but their stories were written by 10-year-olds who have had no exposure to anything other than GTA their entire lives.

Quoting: Segata SanshiroDead Island and Dying Light are fun games, but their stories were written by 10-year-olds who have had no exposure to anything other than GTA their entire lives.Like most AAA games and (Hollywood) movies. Anything with a story that isn't dumbed down and doesn't appeal to the lowest common denominator gets hailed in the press as the best thing since sliced bread but it's the easily digested stuff with pretty graphics that brings home the big bucks. Happily - as you said - they can often still be fun to play.

It's really a shame that the issues drag this title down. I still can't play multi-player with this title.
That said, if this DLC is accessible prior to max level and goes beyond duct taping saw blades onto pipes for weapons I might pick it up.

I've noticed this trend with "AAA" games that have a Linux version coming, won't put a Linux or SteamOS logo at the end of the trailer and I find it really odd. Why on earth wouldn't they want to advertise a potential sale?

Quoting: GuestTrue, I missed that completely - years of seeing the PC-DVD logo made it synonymous even to me, who hates the term PC used for Windows :/Quoting: CybolicI've noticed this trend with "AAA" games that have a Linux version coming, won't put a Linux or SteamOS logo at the end of the trailer and I find it really odd.
