Feral Interactive are awesome, that's not exactly news, but they did send out an interesting tweet earlier showing off some new kit.
It's great to see them get more AMD units in, while they already had some of course, this will hopefully help them get even more testing and performance fixes for AMD chips in their ports.
Top stuff Feral, pleasing to see. I am very much looking forward to Company of Heroes on Thursday!
Do you like bits of things? Yes? Us too! We’re putting them together into Linux machines, most of them with AMD CPUs. pic.twitter.com/dq5A8egcQE

Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
I'm not an AMD fan but I'm happy to see they are supporting it. There are quite a few people using AMD cards and they deserve good support.

Quoting: scaineCan't quite make out what the Sapphire GPU is at the back, but given that there's a 980 and 970 in there with the R9 390, I hope it's another AMD card. But "AMD CPUs" is good too. A decent mix.Sapphire only do AMD GPU. With the image it can only be either R7 265, R9 270(X), R9 280(X) or R9 285.

I'm very glad to hear it. Their AMD support up till now has been somewhat disappointing. Course AMD is at fault as well.

Dude, there's a big R9 390 right in the middle.
Ah my bad! Now that's interesting.

So far I didn't have any problems with Feral ports aside from Shadow of Mordor which I simply didn't buy/support.
I always use the AMD open source drivers as binary blobs can go phuck themselves :) (no time for all the problems that come with them in my daily life)
Actually AMD is working on many problems, it's just that their strategy is more mid and long-term.
I'm curious how long it will take for the rumors to disappear though. When I bought an AMD-GPU quite a few years back, after I had a NVIDIA one everybody was like "You use AMD? Are you stupid? Their drivers just suck"... that was on Windows back then and it was utter bullshit. I never had a single problem that could be pinned down to drivers.
Of course I couldn't see all the proprietary nvidia-stuff such as physx in Borderlands 2 etc. but as I didn't care for proprietary technology even when I used Windows I couldn't care less.
So, I'm really, really curious how long it will take after the drivers are on par for the crowd to stop spreading nonsense. I guess it will be a few years at least.

I'm sure most of us will be happy to see AMD competitive again on Linux when the time comes. I know I'd love to have an actual choice when buying a GPU for Linux gaming.

Nope, boycotting Linux gaming until AMD bring me proper performance and working crossfire support :)))

Oh, but I was not talking solely about the GOL-crowd, but in more general terms. Sorry if it sounded differently ;)
I even brought the Windows-example where to date many people have a very bad attitude towards AMD for no reason whatsoever.
On windows my 6950 can compete against any nvidia card in the same generation, apart from proprietary technology such as physx etc.

I'm pretty sure that as soon as the results are starting to roll in about AMD getting their shit together, that the word will spread fast in the Linux camp. We do not like monopolists, and many of us use and recommend Nvidia today for pure pragmatic reasons.
I'd love to shift to AMD myself, but it won't happen until their cards offer an equal or better performance than Nvidia.

I fear that then it will not happen at all. Nvidia has far more resources to spend on optimizing their binary blob. So it's a classic chicken/egg-problem.
