In a move that I imagine will make a lot of people happy, it seems RollerCoaster Tycoon World will support Linux at launch!

About the game (Official)
RollerCoaster Tycoon World™ is the newest installment in the legendary RCT franchise. This next-generation theme park simulation and building game includes fan-favorite features and incredible new advancements such as stunning 3D environments full of roller coaster thrills, exciting flat rides, eager guests, user-generated content, robust social features, and more – all in one massively fun game!

The feature list on Steam is pretty big too with things like Steam Workshop support, the ability to ride the roller-coasters yourself, and more.

I will be interested to see some real gameplay, and not a teaser trailer, but consider me hyped.

They have included SteamOS + Linux specifications on their page now:
QuoteMINIMUM:
OS: SteamOS (64-bit)
Processor: 2.3 Ghz Core i5 or AMD equivalent
Memory: 4 GB RAM
Graphics: Dedicated video card with 1 GB of RAM (or above)
Hard Drive: 10 GB available space
Additional Notes: Subject to Change

It's also now confirmed as a platform on their website! So this isn't some sort of error, and it seems to be a Unity title, so it's not surprising.

It's due for release in "Q4 2015". Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Great!

Let me take this opportunity to give some attention to the active OpenRCT2 project for those who don't know the existence yet.

Edit: Now if someone would like to use the awesome openRCT2 code on top of UE4 and extend it with some 3D views...

1 and 2 were great, some of my favourite games back then and probably second-only to Theme Hosptial in the sim/tycoon/theme games IMO. Lets hope they don't ruin it though...

EDIT: probably tied with Airline Tycoon actually...
