Planetary Annihilation gets bigger, as the previous test release that included Asteroids is now live in the stable version.

I tested out around an hour of it last night while playing a 1v1 ranked match, and the game couldn't have been smoother. Everything worked as expected, and I got my ass handed to me of course.

The new version adds the previously mentioned Asteroids to throw at planets, more modding support, maaaany bug fixes and more. It's great to see them continue to push out such massive builds to an already great game.

They also have something up their sleeve for another release soon, but no word on what yet. There's a tournament planned for the 22nd of August, and Uber Entertainment have stated they have something in store for before it starts, so who knows. The excitement is real though!

They still need a proper tutorial for newer players, and not assume everyone knows their building mechanics. If you have played games like Total Annihilation, SpringRTS or Supreme Commander you will pick it up easily though.

I'd extra pay for a serious single-player campaign!
Really!

Unfortunatelly, it's still unplayable with optimus cards using primusrun. :(

I was hoping PA would be more like StarCraft 1 Brood War. Unfortunately it was not and the camera was hanky - you would spin it and it would stick in a unnatural way.

After seeing so many PA updates on GOL I hope they improve because I would like to try again someday.

For Optimus the games needs to be run with the --software-ui option.
