A developer said this recently:
QuoteWell we are testing a linux build now. It has everything except controller support. We are trying to get it out in the next 2 weeks.
About the game (Official)
Lead your motorcycle gang on an epic journey across the country in this brutal driving combat adventure.
Earn money by completing races, assassinations, robberies, and other challenges in your path. As you collect loot, you'll upgrade your character, your bike, and your weapons.
One Life To Live
Driving a motorcycle at 100 mph while trying to hit someone with a pipe is dangerous, and death can come quickly. There are no extra lives nor continues. Fortunately, every time you die, all the experience you've collected can be used to upgrade your character, your bike, and your weapons.
In the multiplayer mode, you can work with your friends or fight against them. It's up to you.
Check out Road Redemption on Steam, but please don't buy it until the Linux version is released.

About 20 years ago, I used to play Road Rash (or TMHT) at the arcades in my local leisure centre... can't wait for a modern re-imagining on Linux.

Hopefully when they do implement the Linux build it has controller support. No chance I'm playing this with m&kb.

I supported it on Kickstarter as well. Rarely throw money at a Kickstarter project, but I have very fond memories of playing the Road Rash series on Sega consoles (yes I'm that old :) ) and the promise of Linux support sealed the deal.
I know.... I know... don't pay for a title before the Linux client is actually released. But these guys are quite reputable.
Cheers!

As soon as it exits Early Access and has a good Linux port, it's insta-buy.
Been playing Road Rash 1-2-3 on SEGA Megadrive and it just looks like it's not only a spiritual successor, but it's also on big step forward. I love those raining cars! This is going to be a multiplayer staple.

I could play it on Linux using this tutorial. Game engine is Unitye3D, so they can do alpha Linux build very easy.
PS I tested it a while ago before they switched from Unity 4 to Unity 5.
