Rocket League is massively popular right now, and we are happy to confirm it's heading our way! You even get a free copy with Steam Hardware. The above image is taken directly from Steam, but the Rocket League developers also announced it on their website:

1 Million Sold on Steam! Coming to SteamOS/Mac later this year! 48-Hour Steam Sale at 10% off! http://t.co/KOJV2v3IZB pic.twitter.com/e5Eikrnlbg

If you already own it, you will get a free copy to gift to a friend.

It's also worth noting it seems Portal 2 will also be included with Steam Hardware purchases. Same deal here, free copy to send to a friend if you already own it.

I have a Steam Controller ordered, so hopefully I will see my copy then too. I do wonder how they will be doing this though, if you have to sign up through Steam somewhere, or if you get gift cards now thrown in the box, it will be interesting to see if I remember at the time.

About the game (Official)
Soccer meets driving once again in the long-awaited, physics-based sequel to the beloved arena classic, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars!

A futuristic Sports-Action game, Rocket League, equips players with booster-rigged vehicles that can be crashed into balls for incredible goals or epic saves across multiple, highly-detailed arenas. Using an advanced physics system to simulate realistic interactions, Rocket League relies on mass and momentum to give players a complete sense of intuitive control in this unbelievable, high-octane re-imagining of association football.

Check out Rocket League on Steam, but as always we advise waiting until it's released. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

I really enjoyed Rocked League during the beta (or alpha, or whatever) even tho I haven't played it that long cuz I switched to Linux. It's been a long time now and I see they improved the game alot. I am really looking forward to buy this game :D but only when it's out

Oh, wow! That's like they read my thoughts. I relly hoped they'd port Rocket League, was contemplating about ordering a Steam controller and don't own Portal 2 yet.
Sounds like a decent deal.

Cool I'll buy this one!
Keyrock Aug 28, 2015
This explains why a(nother) copy of Portal 2 just popped up in my inventory, I ordered the Steam Controller some months ago. Sweet, a freebie and another one coming my way. :D

Cool! This game is very good and at first they said that they could not port the game to Linux due to licensing issues and because didn't think the market share was worth it, I'm happy that they finally reconsider. This game is incredibly popular right now, having it on Steam OS will certainly help the success of Steam Machines.

The preorder has to be from steam store or is valid also from any other reseller that sells steam hardware? :o?
Beamboom Aug 28, 2015
This is really great news, it's "the shizzle" right now. If I am not mistaken it's the most popular game on Youtube now.

It does sound like a good launch title for the Steam Machines

It's fun - but sadly rather short-timed

Wow - this looks like a modernized version of Carball (mod for UT2k4). I lost days playing that.

I don't know, they don't say anywhere.

Shame, it seems it's only if you do it directly on Steam. So, my hardware ordered through the authorised reseller Game.co.uk doesn't count. Shame, but I guess I will live.

Edit: Turns out I do get them too :D
