We love horror games here (hi Samsai), and Tangiers looks so freaky that it's exciting me. I'm going to see to it that Samsai (our video specialist) does a nice stream on it for you pleasure too.
About the game (Official)
Tangiers is a horror tinged stealth game – like Thief, but in a world touched by the surreal and grotesque. A world Ballardian, Burroughsian and all manner of other similars.
Keep to the shadows and avoid conflict. Use strategy, guile & quick thinking to overcome problems. Explore open, sandbox environments as you travel through The City of Tangiers.
Or engage the world in less physical terms.
Use language as a weapon; stealing dialogue and using it to manipulate, mislead and control.
You play an outsider, an interloper that doesn’t belong in this world.
Your arrival has triggered events that are tearing at the fabric of reality – as you flit through existencean* already off-kilter world folds in on itself.
Architecture gets stubborn and refuses to obey the laws of time and space. The civilians, they begin to envy architecture and follow suite. Concrete purgatory becomes hell. Tangiers is travelogue through a world aggressively redefining its state of being.
*I have no idea what existencean means, their words, not mine.
The developers confirmed to me directly that it will be on Linux. There's a beta scheduled for September, and the full release is slated for November.

Their website is a horror in its own right. When you click on about, you stay at the same place, visually, can scroll downwards to the about text - but the arrows to go to the other pages are gone...

I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be "existence, an". Would make a lot more sense.

This is not a horror game. Surreal, perhaps a bit unsettling in its themes, but "horror" is most certainly not what they are going for here. It's meant to be full of symbolism, metaphor abound. They might say "horror-tinged" but if you follow some of their earlier discussions on it, around the time they were crowdfunding it, you'll see what I mean. I guess some might still be terrified. :)
