TerraTech is my latest discovery and purchase, after the developers fixed up the input issues in the demo, I was able to see that it's quite an interesting vehicle combat game.

About the game
In TerraTech you design, construct and command a fleet of unique vehicles, as you battle your way to victory across the lawless frontiers of new alien worlds, in a quest for glory and profit. In the distant future, Earth's natural resources have been depleted, and as an off-world prospector it's your job to travel to alien planets and scour them for valuable materials. These can be refined and shipped back to Earth in return for cash, or crafted into new components to augment your fleet. The rarest resources unlock the best equipment, so expand your territory and capture enemy bases, to secure your position on each planet.

Some thoughts
It's not your standard open world game, as it does have a story mode that keeps you going for a while, and I did find it quite easy to get into. The story mode doesn't yet seem very fleshed out, as it's really only telling you the basics and then you seem to be on your own.

Building is as simple as dragging blocks around to connect them up, and that's all there is to it. It doesn't mean building a powerful vehicle is easy though! They are easy to topple over, so you need to get the correct weight distribution going.

It also seems to have a day and night cycle, and that makes me love the game even more!

After about half an hour my base was starting to come together, and that's what I really like about the game that it is open world, but it also has strategy elements too, as you need to keep it safe.

I am very keen to see where the game goes in future, and will keep coming back to play it and check on the progress.

Issues
Performance is currently an issue, as even my 970 struggled a lot even with the graphics settings turned down. It's not uncommon for Early Access games to perform badly though, and I imagine they will work on it.

It seems to have only one real bit of music, which gets boring after a while. Hopefully they will add more tunes into the game, luckily it's the type of game you can easily play with your own background music.

Check out TerraTech on Steam, but remember it's Early Access folks. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

This seems to be in the same style of Robocraft, another game in early access.

My experience with TerraTech has been fairly positive. They're on the ball when it comes to bug reports and seem to be doing PR appropriately, IMO.

The game is certainly in early access, but I think it has a lot of potential.

I was wondering how this compares against RoboCraft as that game looks similar & is super addictive.
