I finally took some time to sit down with The Talos Principle in a livestream the other night, and wow I was pleasantly surprised by it. I've never been one to really get engrossed by puzzle games, as they usually end up too boring for me. Something about The Talos Principle had me completely hooked, and I ended up sinking 1.7 hours into it according to Steam.
I think having a puzzle game that's first person, and quite beautiful really helped get me into Talos. I did feel a bit stupid at the start, as I don't have to really use my brain very often while playing games. This is mainly due to being an FPS junky, but I am trying to push myself to other games to enjoy a wider variety.
Once I got the hang of it, I was able to do certain puzzles with blistering speed, and that seemed to impress our editor Samsai quite a bit. Heck, I even impressed myself with some of it!
So, what have you been playing, and what did you think to it?

I#m in Mordor to time. I have the mainstory to 80% finished. It can have a performence patch but the game self is a great game.

Shadowrun Hong Kong and Bioshock Infinite.
Shadowrun is a great series, I'm enjoying every moment of every playthrough. Every generation should have a truly stellar RPG and I feel like Shadowrun, at least in terms of atmosphere and lore and sheer fun, is outstanding.
Bioshock Infinite is another solid Bioshock game. What more is there to say? Playing a Bioshock game on Linux is sublime.
Next in queue is Morder.

Shadowrun Returns
A great game, with a bit hard to use UI though. I love the story but keep hearing that Dragonfall has the better story, so can't wait to play that after I finish Shadowrun Returns. After that probably Hong Kong :P . I am liking the Shadowrun universe setting, first time I ever played one.
The other game I am playing right now is Shadow of Mordor on and off.

Mordor got a solid 15 hours from me so far - unlike valczir, I love the combat. You should rarely die in SoM, instead running away at 20-25% health, recouping and trying again. But if you get the combat "just right", you won't be dying much anyway, since you're such a total bad-ass in the game. Even more so than Batman City/Asylum, I can walk into a group of 15+ Uruk and know that there's a solid chance I'll be the last one standing. Hell, there's even a point in the game that puts you in an arena and throws 100+ Uruk at you, around 15 at a time. Magic game. Wonderful.
Otherwise, I'm still hooked on Tales of Maj'Eyal. In fact, at 140 hours, it's nearly competing with my Killing Floor addiction (200 hours). I need to get it out of my system before KF2 is out for Linux...
Finally, it's a straight tie between Victor Vran (epic), Herosiege (epic) and Terraria (epic). All of these are my go-to multiplayer games with my kids over LAN (although Herosiege needs an open port on your router, sadly).
I'm a happy penguin at the moment!

I tried TF2 on linux again and sadly it runs very slow (my laptop where im playing it is old), which is a shame since one year ago the game used to run very fast on any map on the r600 driver, now its unplayable. So I tried the windows version from the windows partition using wine with gallium nine and it ran a bit better, its incredible how sometimes wine runs better than native. But Valve is making that game slower and slower after each update.
Other than that, indie games, since thats all what can be run from here. But there are some than are very good.

Dominions 4 (as usual) :D
KOTOR2 (Never played it, and some good fun is to be had) ^_^
Pandora: First Contact (Who needs CIV:BE?) :><:
Planetary Annihilation TITANS (Whew!)
Torchlight II (still)
FTL (just for the usual asskicking) :'(
Empire:Total War (Another of Feral's finest)
...none of which need any introduction (except Dominions 4, and you need a review from me. Real Soon Now).
Mordor chugs on my 650ti; time to upgrade to the 960. Also Real Soon Now.
