Sad news folks, Alien: Isolation has been delayed for Linux. There is no set release date now, but this gives them time to polish it up.
Press release copied below:
QuoteWe're sorry to bring you bad tidings, but Alien: Isolation - The Collection for Mac and Linux has been delayed due to an issue that affects both platforms, and will not be released today.
We are committed to releasing games only once they reach our high standards for performance. A bit more time is needed to ensure that Alien: Isolation achieves this.
We will announce a new release date soon.
We would like to thank everyone for their patience while we work to bring people the best experience possible.
Delays happen, and while it's always sad when it happens it will mean we will have a better port at the end of it. I've seen Feral getting quite a lot of flack recently for their ports performance, so hopefully they can put that to rest with a good launch of Alien: Isolation.
Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Maybe one of Ferals linux devs got a face hugger stuck to him? They need time to remove it before he is hard back at work.

Quoting: MaelranePersonally I do not understand why they do not officially support AMD.
That would mean the contractor would have to charge the contractee more $$$. Offering guarantees in the software world is a very expensive thing to do - especially since it's difficult to calculate the scope of said guarantee and the cost to pay developers proper wages.
Also - as you can see from this delayed launch, the less promises you make the less you disappoint people - just Imagine how enraged AMD gamers would be if it ran less than equal on AMD - you think AMD users are mad now - they would be much more enraged after being promised support.
They're smart enough not to tie their own rope around their neck.

I think is one thing said we don' t support but I will like to read reason why they didn' t support it, please don' t come with the drivers sucks and all that stuff. I will like to read what are the problem they are facing on amd hardware and nvidia hardware is ok, at less in oss I understand that doesn' t have all the same support of OpenGl so that is the reason won't work, but as Catalyst none developer said the reason at less name it.

@raonlinux: They have cited problems like missing textures, graphical glitches, instability and poor performance on AMD hardware for their ports. I won't take part in the debate on who's to blame, but it does very much seem like Feral develops against Nvidia's blob and feels Catalyst isn't worth the effort. Maybe Catalyst is very buggy, or maybe it just expects strict adherence to the OpenGL standard. Or maybe both.

Better than releasing in a bad state.

While there's no date yet, they are saying it's only "slightly delayed":
