Borderlands 2 & Borderlands The Pre-Sequel have been updated with some pretty beefy updates, and they include some little Linux fixes too.
For Linux gamers, you can now set extra mouse buttons to do things, which is apparently a big thing (I never use mine).

I think it's fantastic Gearbox & Aspyr are still updating Borderlands 2, and I'm sure TPS updates are equally as welcome.
Sometime, I really will finish Borderlands 2, as it's such a good bit of fun. The random weapons are just delightful, and I'm so very happy Aspyr Media delivered it for us. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Or just use this kind of [mouse](http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-mice/razer-naga-hex), which has 6 extra buttons that are hard-mapped to keyboard numpad 1-6 or numrow 1-6 (switchable under the mouse). It works out of the box on Linux, no driver needed. <3

I sadly recall a big difference in the experience I had with borderlands on Linux compared with the one I had on Windows. I located the problem to nvidia physx acceleration, does anyone know if that problem have been fixed yet? or does anyone know if borderlands are planning to support physx at a later date?

Before using a Naga Hex, I had a Logitech G5 which has 2 extra buttons. But these buttons are especially dedicated to mouse and are not linked to anything else (I think Liam talks about those buttons). I had hard time to map them on any games, very-very few games worked out of the box since devs have to especially code stuff to make them working.
Since I switched to Naga Hex, I never ran into any issue with its 6 extra buttons.
Simply speaking: numpad works? so Naga Hex works! (which is the case on every games I tried)
I can't speak about Naga 2014 (12 buttons), since I never had the chance to test one, and don't know how it works.
Q: Are all those buttons hard-mapped to keyboard? I don't have any numpad12 on my KB though. :P

Or any of the roccat gear, All there stuff is fully fucntinal under linux. It's what i use a good few games now :D
And still no official AMD support...
Don't know why ether as it runs well on a 290x at least.
Nice to see they are updating both and what not. BL2 is the game with most hours played in my now rather large linux game list :P

I had asked Aspyr about this before and they said due to this they had not plans for supporting PhysX in these games on Linux (or Mac).
I don't think I've ever seen a Linux game with full PhysX support.Check out the Metro Redux games.

I know I suck at FPS, but I can't even kill the very first boss :'( . It'd be nice if I could see the rest of the f*cking game...

I got stuck in BL2 after 6 hours, ran out of (usefull ammo). Always make sure that you carry enough types of different ammo and even more important, don't flood your inventory with multiple same ammo types esp. pistols.

by "okay-ish" I mean choppy 35 FPS at medium graphics (setting them lower doesn't improve performance at all).

For me, Borderlands 2 is still the best game on Linux. I have played through the campaign multiple times with different characters. It is extremely fun and addictive.

ever thought of using coop feature? it exists there for exactly that reason. hell, even i made at least 20 characters just to help people with same problem as you and not screw their game with being op. and i'm not even close to being hardcore player. if you're at first boss, you can't be more than level 5
borderlands is most fun when you play with other people
