If you have fond memories of the setting of Darkwatch, or you've always wished XCOM featured cowboys and demons instead of aliens, consider yourself lucky.

Gambitious Digital Entertainment - whom we've previously seen publish Breach & Clear and Train Fever for Linux - has put "Hard West" by CreativeForge Games and Playway up for pre-purchase on Steam, though I would follow this site's usual recommendations and suggest that you wait for its release before purchasing.

The game was apparently Kickstarted last August and will see release on November the 4th.

For a better look at how this will play, check out the gameplay video below or take a look at IGN's write-up from PAX (featuring the same video).

Looks pretty good. Western/Supernatural X-COM sounds like something right up my alley.

I have to admit, I'm pretty damn interested in this. First I've heard of it.

While it was pretty basic, I enjoyed "Call of Ctulhu: The Wasted Land" on Android. With the supernatural stuff this seems like it might give a somewhat similar feel but obviously looks much better and maybe it has more refined gameplay too.

I was interested in this game when I first heard about it- for a moment. Then I read about the supernatural stuff.

I really wish someone would make a great Western game like Desperados again.

Even though I'd prefer it without the supernatural stuff, still looks pretty interesting.
