New Linux Gaming Survey For October

Isn't there a way to add multiple radio buttons to an input thing?
So you could have done that last question as a 1 to 5 scale of importance?

Anyway, looking forward to seeing September's results.

I added it now. Haven't had many responses yet and it seems like too important an option to miss out :)

Basically only on a question-by-question basis can you do this (Ie each of the answers would have to be its own question). I was thinking the exact same thing when putting in the question, it would be super useful but alas no :(

I guess most important factor would be fun/interesting gameplay mechanics. But maybe that's a given.

Long time Windows user here, I definitely switched to Linux (Mint for the moment). So happy with it!

My previous tries did not match my requirements before, but now it's the good one!

I didn't answer the final question because none of the responses fit for me. Really, that's an almost impossible question for me to answer because what appeals to me changes on a case by case basis. Sometimes I buy as game because of the genre it's in, sometimes the aesthetic appeals to me, sometimes the reputation of the developer influences me, it's different every time and I can't predict it.

For example, right now I have a terrible urge to play a racing game, I want to play a racing game really badly, so the first racing game to come out, whether it's Project CARS or GRID: Autosport, I will almost certainly buy it, once I know it's not a buggy mess.

To be clear, I think it's a good question, I just couldn't answer it. For me, the heart wants what the heart wants, it's kind of different every time.

It's on a virtual disk but still, it's a Windows partition.

In this question: Unique Question: Which are the most important factors you consider when buying a new game? I'd say DRM-free is a major factor for me (in addition to others). I.e. if it's not DRM-free, I won't buy it.

Well, I would say better hardware support and better overall polishing mostly, plus more games on the platform. I'm not even playing native Linux games right now, but at least there is a choice.

On the other hand, Windows pisses me off more and more everyday (still using it at work).

Is local multiplayer considered as multiplayer? I've found myself fond of these games lately.

I would think so. Multiplayer is when two people or more play together, wheather they are sitting on the same couch or on the opposite side of the world. (Random association: I always liked the thought of playing Call of Duty, being a German, with or against Polish or Russian players. What a better world it would have been if our grand grand fathers would have done the same back then...)

I recommend (games from) the Valve complete pack as Valve supports Linux in all their games. Their ports have high quality in respect to stability and performance. Another high performing game which can beat Windows performance (depending on graphical settings:AA,...) is Metro Redux, and there might be many other.

Done, also I think it's time to remove Desura from the store list question don't you?

People, well, Windows users at least, are still buying from Desura at thus point. Maybe they havn't got the news.
