I have to hand it to RWS, they do support their games pretty nicely. Not only has Postal 2 been updated, but they have gone back updated Postal 1 with gamepad controls and more.
I've tried it very briefly, and my Logitech F310 was picked up. The controls do seem a little odd at times, with the crosshair acting a bit odd, but it works and does make it play differently.
Other new stuff:
- The Special Delivery expansion levels are now relegated to a separate campaign option in the menu due to popular demand.
- The HUD status bar now displays the required percentage of hostiles to eliminate at all times for convenience
- The crosshair is now a floating crosshair instead of the old ineffectual lock-on crosshair and is enabled by default.
- Proper widescreen aspect ratio and monitor support
There's also a possibility of a source code release:
We're going to release the POSTAL 1 source code soon, but only if someone promises to port it to the Dreamcast.

About the game
Play as The POSTAL Dude in his first appearance in a video game. Includes all the original missions PLUS the Special Delivery addon pack! This is retro gameplay at its finest. In the ilk of Robotron, play from a 3/4 Isometric view and take out your aggression on gun toting protagonists, innocent bystanders as well as torching a marching band! No aliens, no mutants, no stupid quest for the dragon's balls. Just good antisocial, psychotic shoot-'em-up action, strategy and government intervention.
You can find Postal 1 on Steam. It's also on sale for the price of a bag of crisps.

A year ago, I played it on my GNU/Linux laptop with keyboard and mouse for couple hours. Controls were wonky; I could not stand more than 3 levels. Source code release is so kind regardless.

Bought, Postal 2 is awesome and also quite cheap and with trading cards you almost pay nothing!
Don't like top down shooters, think that perspective is for strategy games, thats why i didnt bought it before.

Nice, I miss it when some devs released their source code. Now with proprietary middleware licenses, you can't really legally do that. I wish it was like the days of Id Software where they owned their tech, gave their source code under a free license, but they offered other companies with "Hey, if you don't want to comply with the GPL, make a deal with us and we'll give you the pre-GPL code".

I'd buy it if I didn't already own it :D The developers are top notch guys. I sent in a request for steam keys for the Postal Fudge Pack, and they happily gave it to me, along with an extra key for Postal 2 (since they accidentally gave me that key at first instead of the one for Postal 1. But for them to support their software this long after release is amazing.
