We covered it before, but now RollerCoaster Tycoon World has a proper release date, and Linux will be included.

They also have a new video about it:

About the game
RollerCoaster Tycoon World™ is the newest installment in the legendary RCT franchise. This next-generation theme park simulation and building game includes fan-favorite features and incredible new advancements such as stunning 3D environments full of roller coaster thrills, exciting flat rides, eager guests, user-generated content, robust social features, and more – all in one massively fun game!

Find it on Steam. You can pre-purchase now, but you know how we feel about doing something silly like that, don't.

I am pretty excited to give it a go, and I hope it's good! Will you be grabbing a copy? It's another series I never imagined Linux getting, good times.

Thanks for the poke about it Luke. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Considering this game has been in the hands of not 1, not 2, but 3 different developers, I do not expect this to be good, or even decent. Atari being the publisher doesn't help either. I'll be quite happy to be wrong, I'd love to play a good RCT game, but I'll let others be the guinea pigs for this game. I'm staying way clear of this at launch.

Yep same for me, I ll wait for some gameplay videos and reviews. RTC1 and RTC2 are still the best RTC games :)

Don't forget about http://themeparkitect.com/ :)

It's a good thing to have this on Linux, I could see myself spending quite some time at this. Especially if there's more options to make a complete theme park about a single theme, and peeps actually respond to that.

Also, the video gives a nice impression of the game, I suppose, but most of the features are kinda what you'd expect from a modern incarnation of RTC. And they do make it sound like it's kinda special that they included those features.

Ya my girl is gonna want this on her Arch if it's as good as RTC2

looks like they were dead set on the quality over just producing another RCT game. Steam workshop support plus many of the newer technologies found in many games. The editor looks insanely good. if this is getting day one linux support then I'm all for it. i've been wanting to play a new RCT game for a long time. This looks great.

I still don't get this argument.

Some people like to own they're games some people like me don't care. It is more like preference.
