A recent Polygon article that covered Valve's new hardware has some information from Valve, and it's not entirely clear, but it looks like Just Cause 3 could come to Linux.
To quote Valve from the piece:
Erik Johnson, ValveThe range of games is triple-A titles like Just Cause 3 that are multiplatform, all the way back to games like System Shock 2 and Half-Life. The idea that we'd be playing those games in the living room with a controller was not something we had ever considered. We had to solve all the problems there.
Robin Walker, ValveWe talked to Avalanche Games to see if we could show Just Cause 3, which is not out yet.
They don't specifically mention SteamOS, but this is an article talking about the Steam Machines and SteamOS, and it's under the Games section. It's easy to assume they mean it will see a SteamOS/Linux release, but it's too unclear to be solid.
I'm pretty excited at the possibility of it, as the game looks fantastic, but for all we know they could have been testing out the Streaming ability at this point. It would be a huge title to have though, that's for sure and I would personally buy it out of interest if it does come out for us.
About Just Cause 3
The Mediterranean republic of Medici is suffering under the brutal control of General Di Ravello, a dictator with an insatiable appetite for power. Enter Rico Rodriguez, a man on a mission to destroy the General’s hold on power by any means necessary. With over 400 square miles of complete freedom from sky to seabed and a huge arsenal of weaponry, gadgets and vehicles, prepare to unleash chaos in the most creative and explosive ways you can imagine.
Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
I own JC 1 & 2. JC1 works under Wine. JC2 does not last I tried (as it requires DirectX 10), but CodeWeavers said some months back that they are expecting DX10/11 support to be added to Wine by the end of the year (and I took out a new CrossOver subscription and have been more active in testing and updating bug reports to support them in their quest).
This is good, because I don't generally play games out of order. I'd want to complete the campaign for both JC1 and JC2 before taking a look at JC3.

I think this is highly doubtful. More likely a misunderstanding.

Quoting: ChiKinI think this is highly doubtful. More likely a misunderstanding.I also think it's not very likely - but JC3 is at the moment the only AAA title I really would like to buy. So let's hope avalanche is out for some experimenting.

Seems pretty unlikely:
9. Linux & Mac support
We are not planning to support Linux and Mac for now.

That said, JC3 would still be playable on Linux via a Windows guest in KVM/Xen w/ GPU passthrough or a cloud game streaming service, such as LiquidSky or Amazon EC2 w/ ec2gaming AMI + Steam In-Home Streaming + VPN.

Quotea huge arsenal of weaponsThis is usually not my thing. The game looks good though.
Square Enix doesn't have a lot of Linux support, they appear to have something to do with Wakfu, but are not listed on the Steam store page. I think Avalanche Studios has no Linux supported games yet. So I'm not getting my hopes up.
