Euro Fishing immerses you deep into the adrenaline-packed action, fun and beauty of Europe’s most famous lakes. Sounds okay, and the graphics look quite nice too.

On their forum they stated simply this:
QuoteHello everyone,

we're happy to announce that we're working on a Mac & Linux version of the game that will be released in the next few weeks.

More news soon.

Kevin

'Adranaline-packed action' and fishing are two words I never thought I'd read together ;-)
Then again, who knows, maybe it's about zombie-fish and fishing with dynamite!

This one looks better than the last one. Might be a game my dad would be into.

Boy, this sure is a great time to be a uh.. fishing-simulator enthusiast the uses Linux! All 12 of them will be so excited.

But seriously it's good to see all of these new genres finally make their way to Linux.

Fishing... adrenaline-packed action? Now, I'm not exactly Kevin VanDam, but I have partaken in a spot of fishing on more than a few occasions in my life and "adrenaline-packed action", is not exactly how I would describe those experiences. I mainly went fishing to relax and enjoy the outdoors and drink a couple beers. Maybe I was doing it wrong?

On a serious note, this looks pretty cool. I'll keep my eye on it at the very least.

That is absolute nothing against "Rod out, the fun begins!" (original "Rute raus, der Spaß beginnt!" ) a german fishing film series title.

I will likely pick this up. I've had three good fishing game experiences in my lifetime: Super Black Bass (SNES), Sierra Trophy Bass 3D (Windows 9x), and to a lesser extent, Rapala Pro Bass Fishing (PS3, complete with oversized rod controller). Oh, and I actually LOVED the fishing mini-game in The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (GameBoy).

I expect Euro Fishing to match none of those, but I'll never know unless I try it. If it sucks, I can just get a refund and then go to a lake and pull out some trout for real.

Ever catch a 6 and a half foot gar with 5 inch teeth? That does pretty well at getting the adrenaline flowing.

Does it make me a bad vegan to want to play a fishing game? Probably.

God I love these simulator games. They are so pointless and amazing at the same time.

No. But what about all the games where you kill people? Catching fish gives you pause but murder and mayhem does not? ;)

Same for me. Killing humans in games I am perfectly fine with, animals not-so-much.

Have you ever fished in real life? I have & when a fish takes the bait & starts to run with the line, you start to reel it in & it's struggling to get away, that fight to get it in your catch net really gets the adrenaline going.

The point of fishing is the fight between Man & Fish, catch & release, not catch & kill, the fish lives to fight another day.

Yeah, a noble fight indeed. Just like swinging a fly swatter is a "fight between Man & Mosquito".

I find catch & release cruel and pointless, but I'm fine with catching fish for food. The same "catch & release" policy applied to hunting (with tranquilizer darts or something) would be considered animal abuse in most civilized countries. But I guess fish aren't cuddly enough. :)

Virtual fishing can be fun though. Don't like hunting games personally.

I totally see this kind of games taking a new turn with SteamVR, and the HTC Vive, with the steam dual controllers. Even support for the Steam controller built-in accelerometer would be cool :)
