A fellow from Nordic Games has commenting about the disappearance of the announced Darksiders and Darksiders II Linux ports.
See the forum post here, copied below:
QuoteThe Darksiders 1 port is actually 98% done with only some bugfixing left. Unfortunately it remained in this state for a while as we had to focus on other things.
For Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition we have a Linux port on our list but cant give a timeframe right now.
This was emailed in quite a number of times, but they key thing here is they haven't forgotten about it. Sadly though, it doesn't seem like it's being picked up any time soon either.
They have probably been far too busy with the newer Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition, so once that's out and finished maybe we will see them re-focus on the Linux ports of Darksiders 2 and Darksiders.
Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Quoting: wojtek88If the game would be 98% finished it would be already released. The problem is that it is 98% of state that they would consider acceptable, not 98% of golden game.Leszlek explained later that it was little he (or any other dev for that matter) could do about loading times because the insane amount of shaders this specific game is using, so it was a choice of the game as it is, or no game at all.
I have spent some time while playing Deadfull Adventures ported by Leszek Godlewski (former porting guy in Nordic games). Port is cool, respect to him, but load time of the game and menu behaviour are something that shouldn't be released. And I guess (assuming that Darksiders finds it's way to Linux) it won't be better here.

And, its Nordic games weekend at Steam! I wish they made it a bit earlier! But a port is a port!

Deadfall Adventures makes my machine (i5 4690K GTX 960) freeze and crash.. I ignore if the game was updated later, improving the performance.
Bioshock Infinite use the same engine and there is no Loading Time problem...
Or that guy is a bad porter or the VP method is much better... I guess.

Lezsek is not a bad porter. It's the same problem with Painkiller. "VP method" is emulate a windows game like wine do. I think that this is not port a game

Quoting: Comandante oardoLike I said, is not about the engine, but about the amount of shaders that specific game is using.Quoting: dubigrasuLeszlek explained later that it was little he (or any other dev for that matter) could do about loading times because the insane amount of shaders this specific game is using, so it was a choice of the game as it is, or no game at all.

Well, then a shader cache should do the trick. As well as parallel shader compilation, both of which are coming to the OSS drivers in a not to distant future.
I didn't forget about this title; I just checked it yesterday ;)

I'd be willing to give Darksiders another go when the ports are done but I doubt I will enjoy the game any more on Linux than I did on Windows which wasn't very much.

These are one of the few games that I have not already purchased and I'm waiting for the linux ports. Dont even know what the game is really about but it looks good and I enjoyed the other nordic games so far.

Now that the Warmastered edition is delayed until November, there is any news about the port for Linux?
Thanks.
