Layers of Fear is a really cool idea for a horror game, where you take control over an insane painter in his quest to finish his magnum opus.

I have to say, that game trailer have me a real shiver. I love it when a trailer can do that to me, I plan to pick this one up for sure.

About the game
Layers of Fear is a psychedelic horror that will keep you on-edge for the reminder of the game. Delve deep into the mind of an insane painter and discover the secret of his madness, as you walk through a constantly shifting house.

Heavily inspired by the masterpiece paintings from the past centuries, and the architecture and décor from the XIX century. Layers of Fear is a truly unique experience, where each move of the camera can change your surroundings.

Layer by layer uncover the visions, fears and horrors that entwine the protagonist and finish the masterpiece he has strived so long to create.

You can find Layers of Fear on Steam. It's in Early Access, so be warned.

I played through it and people were right. The first 30 minutes are like a mix of Gone Home and Amnesia, then it turns into Silent Hills PT on LSD ;D

Best horror game on Linux so far imo.

@Swiftpaw
The Level with the ouija board room is just the Halloween special.

Great game!
Streamed it a few days back, here are the highlights/downlights of it:

Too bad that the game is not yet finished. You can only complete about 4 chapters out of 6 as of now.
Performance is great and lets hope they manage to finish this soon. :)

Great performance so far. Very nicely detailed! Reached the ouija board room and couldn't figure out what to do, though.
That room is a halloween competition addon room. Restart and head upstairs to start the story. ;)

Best horror game on Linux so far imo.
Completely agree with you!

Looks interesting, but I'm kind of horror game'd out at the moment.

This is just crazy, the horror games outnumber the race games by about 1000%.

Seems interesting. I emailed them asking if they plan a DRM free version at any point. I'll let you know what they say.
