The stylish looking stealth game ROOT is now available on Steam, and early reports are looking like it's worth a purchase.

Note: As of 17th Nov 12:28 PM UTC the Linux version isn't live, it looks like the SteamOS icon and system requirements were put up before it is live for us.

It only has 10 reviews so far, but all positive which is a good sign at least.

About the game
Step into the inexpensive loafers of expert hacker Edward Summerton. Roll up your sleeves, pop your collar and brew a pot of coffee, because today you're going to breach the networks of a mysterious and powerful corporation.

ROOT is a cyber espionage themed stealth FPS that lets you play it how you want: whether creeping along corridors undetected or bursting into rooms to blow away all adversaries. Cyber terrorism is a dangerous profession, and risks have real consequences. Damage sustained cannot be recovered, the slightest mistake will jeopardize your chances to reach the next level.

During this undertaking of corporate crypto-espionage you will face many hostile programs, but your most dangerous enemy is the man who designed them. The Systems Administrator built the System from the ground up and holds immense power within the network. He will use the limitless resources at his disposal to prevent you from achieving your goal: total ROOT access to the System.

Be careful, there is a mistake, the Linux version is not live yet. It will be "soon", but it's not playable yet. When you try to install it now, you have the "Invalid platform" message, and it's confirmed by developper : http://steamcommunity.com/app/393610/discussions/0/496881136921245664/

Thanks for the heads-up, was about to buy this. Disappointing that they added the SteamOS logo even though it's not yet supported.

Looks like they removed the SteamOS logo. Hope they get that fixed soon.

They removed the Linux Repo (or whatever these are called), so it doesn't show up for Linux anymore.

If you mean depot, according to steamdb it has a Linux depot

Has the same size as the Mac and Windows depots.

They said they've fixed the "Invalid Plateform" error.

It's True.

Now i don't have this error. Now i have "missing executable".

When i look into my local files, from Steam option, i can see... nothing.

My "Root" folder is empty.

OK, last word : it's now running, they've fixed the problem.
