I know it's an advert, but sometimes adverts really are quite nice. ZOTAC now seems to be stepping up their SteamOS Steam Machine hype with a trailer for their NEN unit.

It's really, really great to see some more advertising come out for Steam Machines. The only problem with this trailer, is that it shows a bunch of featured games at one point that aren't on SteamOS. That's actually a bit misleading even with the disclaimer (why show them at all!), but hey, the more advertising SteamOS gets the better it will be for us.

Pretty decent internals for this box too, quite surprising really for such a small unit.

You can see their full official page on it here. It also bugs me a bit that their SteamOS section side picture shows games that aren't on SteamOS. It also makes me laugh that it states "*internet connection may be required.", may be required? More like is required folks. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Nice trailer! Give us more! :D

The video shows them playing witcher 3 on it.
Do they know something we don't?

Witcher 3 has always been shown whatever Valve has advertised SteamOS. It was also game listen in games coming to SteamOS during GDC. As there's no official information about port yet, there's little to speculate about that. However signs are there.

Now that's what I call good SM ad. Also I like how they don't shy away from it running SteamOS. Now, let's wait for naysayers to tear it all down :)

I agree, this is going to bite Valve come launch.

The GTX 960 is a capable card, pretty much good to go at 1080p for most games (not always maxed). What's the price on this box, out of curiosity?

Don't be ridiculous! People will see this and think the depicted games are on Linux. unless they pay close attention. How many of us can say that the general consumer does that, however?

Everything except CS: GO and potentially Rocket League and Minecraft: Story Mode.

Nonsense. It is fast frame passing by in an *ad*. Seriously, people, stop being such downers.

It's advertising, companies have been sued and forced to take down adverts over stuff like this. It annoys me personally, and I can imagine plenty of people thinking they will be able to play them. That's the point of an advert: to hook people in.

This is why I noted it in the article.

Precisely. This is being realistic, not just pessimistic.

Besided from what I would consider false promises as well (the games shown), I like the trailer.
They invested some thought in what makes the product, the Steam Machines, unique.

Exactly! Zotac and Alienware have to be a bit more careful with their ads.

Some youtubers are even expecting Valve to fix SteamOs so all their Windows games are running on SteamOS too, not realising that it will (most likely) never happen.

At the very least, they should throw a disclaimer up along the lines of "Not all games pictured are currently native to SteamOS and may require streaming from a Windows PC to play on the NEN Steam Machine".
GustyGhost 3 Nov 2015
Looks like they replaced that image now with something a little more honest.

Really good trailer. That store page isn't perfect, but also the name sounds negative:
NEN: (for no)
NEIN: German
NEEN: Luxembourgish
NE: Esperanto + 7 european languages

At 0:38 it says "Not all games illustrated will be available".
