I know it's an advert, but sometimes adverts really are quite nice. ZOTAC now seems to be stepping up their SteamOS Steam Machine hype with a trailer for their NEN unit.

It's really, really great to see some more advertising come out for Steam Machines. The only problem with this trailer, is that it shows a bunch of featured games at one point that aren't on SteamOS. That's actually a bit misleading even with the disclaimer (why show them at all!), but hey, the more advertising SteamOS gets the better it will be for us.

Pretty decent internals for this box too, quite surprising really for such a small unit.

You can see their full official page on it here. It also bugs me a bit that their SteamOS section side picture shows games that aren't on SteamOS. It also makes me laugh that it states "*internet connection may be required.", may be required? More like is required folks. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

If nothing else, this has the whole world talking about Linux gaming. I never thought I'd live to see the day. :D

Wait a second. GTX 960 or GTX 960m? The difference between the two is day and night. Can anyone confirm it really is the desktop GPU inside that tiny box?

I agree, this is going to bite Valve come launch.
Maybe Valve has a bunch of AAA games up their sleeve to coincide with the official launch of SteamOS/Steam Machines.

Sorry, am I being overly optimistic?

I hope they have a few surprises, but lots of people in our IRC seem to think they have nothing. I am starting to agree since they haven't even fixed the fucking filtering options. I would love to eat my words though.

Having watched the video, I agree, that is incredibly misleading. Plus the disclaimer is too small, is on the screen too briefly, and your eye is drawn away from it because of the motion on the left of the screen.

I could easily see people buying this and then getting pissed when they realize that they can't actually play Fallout 4, The Witcher 3, or any of the dozens of other games that are prominently showcased in the ad.

This may just be the box that I go for. Looks nice and small without giving up too much muscle.

The video card is nice, but at 2.2GHz (up to 2.8GHz?), the CPU might be a little weak. I'm also not seeing any spec for RAM.

Very nice machine, how most of them SHOULD be in my opinion. The price on the other hand....
