The last GOL Survey results of our Linux & SteamOS user survey for 2015, wow what a year! The next survey will be available on January 1st and run for two weeks as usual.
I don't really have many comments to make on it right now, as there's not really any shocks.

A small dip here, nothing to worry about, as the numbers are still pretty good overall.
I'm going to be honest, I actually thought this number would be higher. Even I have started to use Wine again for some older games. I refuse to lock myself out of old titles I already own and love simply because I am on Linux now.
I will be really shocked if this ever really changes more than it is already.

This one most surprised me. Then I had a think about it, and our audience here mostly build their own, or are happy with their PC. To get this moving we need to expand the reach of the survey really.

Almost all movement seems to be statistical noise. But the unique questions are interesting!

It actually shrunk this month vs. last month (both in real numbers, and percentage).
Liam, could you add the "Survey" tag to the last results (here, it wasn't too hard to find the article, but it could've been easier if it was tagged like this one.

I bet any money that the extra 5% of people buying Windows games is made up entirely of people who couldn't resits and bought Fallout 4. Can't blame them really, we'll probably never see it on Linux, which makes me sad.

A testament to a healthy, diverse set of interfaces competing with eachother. The same can't be said for the distributions category which appears to be Debian/Arch dominated.

I've been playing Star Wars The Old Republic a lot the past few months on my Windows system.

The first, I'm happy about. For my personal options, but it's also convenient for new users to be able to pick a DE that suits them.
The second, I don't know. Too much different distro's with too much different ways of doing things can make it hard to find your way. Around the system, or to resources that apply to your system. But as I said, I don't really know, never tried anything other than Ubuntu/Debian.
Edit:
Just to clarify, I feel like options 'under the hood' aren't going to matter much to most end-users. It can be confusing though, did I pick the right one?

Right with you there, i think the ones who will never turn to the "right" side are Bethesda and Blizzard, good riddance i don't really like their games anyway.
