Well this was a surprise, the Humble NEOGEO 25th Anniversary Bundle has been released, and it features plenty of games nearly all of which are available on Linux. Right now Linux is leading the pack with the highest average payment too.
You can play several of the titles without even buying, or downloading in Chrome and Firefox, and I think that's pretty awesome by itself.
They seem to have a launcher, and a zip with the roms too in the one I tested, other reports seem to confirm it for the other games too.
Here's a little screenshot for you
What do I get?
Pay what you want for ART OF FIGHTING 2, FATAL FURY SPECIAL, KING OF THE MONSTERS, METAL SLUG 2, SAMURAI SHODOWN II, SENGOKU 3, THE KING OF FIGHTERS 2000, and BASEBALL STARS 2.
Pay more than the average price to also receive THE LAST BLADE, PULSTAR, METAL SLUG, METAL SLUG 3, SHOCK TROOPERS, NEO TURF MASTERS, THE KING OF FIGHTERS '98 ULTIMATE MATCH FINAL EDITION, TWINKLE STAR SPRITES, and the Neo Geo 25th Anniversary Soundtrack.
Pay $10 or more for all of that plus SHOCK TROOPERS: 2nd SQUAD, SAMURAI SHODOWN V Special, GAROU: MARK OF THE WOLVES, METAL SLUG X, and THE KING OF FIGHTERS 2002 UNLIMITED MATCH.
These are the titles that don't support Linux:
THE KING OF FIGHTERS 2002 UNLIMITED MATCH
THE KING OF FIGHTERS '98 ULTIMATE MATCH FINAL EDITION
Two titles isn't so bad, considering how many other games are available. Not a bad bundle at all!

Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Quoting: EikeQuoting: subI remember the 90s when a Neo Geo was extremely expensive,
especially the cartridges which featured extremely big memory for that time.
Far out of reach - for me. :)
Same here. It was said to have the quality of real video arcade(*) games - but it felt like it had the price of a complete video arcade(*) as well. :D
(*) Is there no expression like "arcade hall" or something in English to make clear it's an actual house?
I believe people said "going to the arcade" or maybe to the arcade centre? Although couldn't confirm that, English is not my native language either.

Quoting: TuxeeThx, for your great help and insightful explanation telling me to go search in Google...Quoting: I Need More PixelsQuoting: TheBossQuoting: EikeQuoting: toorSo… they make you pay for wrapping those game in an emulator?
You pay for the games, mostly.
Legal roms, SDL2 supported (in the one I tested), with a natively built emulator. Pretty damn good really.
Whats SDL2...?
Living under a rock? Anyway, even there you should have heard about "search engines" or "Google".

The first humble bundle I buy after many months!

May it be possible that they release these games for Steam after some time and then you can use the keys you bought in the bundle? Maybe this is an interesting possibility...

A question to those who already bought the bundle: Is it possible to play the roms with other emulator than the provided? I am thinking of mame.

I saw people on some other sites say they were using the roms with other emulators (although they didn't mention mame specifically). I tried about 4 or 5 of the games last night and they all worked great.. I created .desktop files for each and linked them into Steam..

Did anyone try playing those games with a gamepad? Mine refuses to work...

Yes, the roms are freely available in the install directory, and they work with other emulators.

Quoting: coolboberAll games are too fast... unplayable with that speed.Found a thread on Reddit that mentioned the bundled emulator expected your refresh rate to be 60Hz. I turned Vsync on, and sure enough the games ran at a normal speed.
Now I just need to get my gamepad recognized...
