New Linux Gamer Survey For December

By -
Pinch, punch, first of the month! As the saying goes...time for our latest monthly survey to complete!

It will be open for ~2 weeks, as we noted submissions to it dramatically drop off after that amount of time, so we will keep it to around that time.

As usual, you fill it in from what you did in the previous month. So, this survey is December's survey, but you fill it in from your activity in November.

Find the new survey here.

You can see November's results here. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Quoting: MohandevirHey! What a surprise! It's kind of off-topic but I just logged into Steam and I got the Steam Survey for the first time in nearly a year. I might just be "lucky", but since it's the first survey after the official release of the Steam Machines, anyone else is in the same situation?

I had this some months ago, also at the first of the month AFAIR, but nothing special this time here.
New Steam number 0.98% (+0.03%). We're a very slightly increasing percentage of a probably very fast growing group. Not too bad.

Quoting: ShabbyXI strongly advise against requiring login for the surveys. In the very least, you should have an "anonymous" option.
The prefill part could be done without requiring login. Your answers for the recurring questions could be (optionally) stored in a cookie for filling in the next time you take the survey. In any case a home grown solution would be better than relying on Google, IMHO.

it takes 10 seconds to fill your fields again... and maybe they have changed...

by autofilling them, you will probably miss stuff... I just changed to kde again... but I switch desktop frequently (not because I like change, but because something breaks and i have to change to the less broken one)

Also, the proprietary driver is being broken in debian for me for the last month... Ive been the whole month (and im still are) using the open source drive and playing games that are not very taxing

I was only aware of these things because I was asked again. If you asked me on the streets just if my setup is the same as last month I would had reply yes without batting an eye

Also, the effort in the development vs the gain sounds bad...

Also, use one of those local plugins to autofill forms... I think the possibility is even built-in on firefox without plugins

Also, I dont think theres anything wrong with the google surveys, but if you want to move away from them, the most popular foss one is https://www.limesurvey.org/en/

Quoting: EikeIf you didn't yet buy Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime - do it! Have fun! :)

That's one of the games I'm adding in :-D

The others are Trine 3 (she loved 1 & 2, so despite the bad reviews it was imperative she got the 3rd one) and Son of Nor.

Why is the form closed??? =S

Anyone with the link can edit the form, you might want to fix that >.>

EDIT: I just edited it so the form is now not closed and is accepting responses again so we can fill it in .. you really shouldn't let anyone with the link edit the form.
EDIT2: I just realised the form might be closed on purpose since it has been 2 weeks since the start of the month (been a bit busy this month so haven't followed GoL closely) so I closed it again - after submitting my response.

We already have the responses from it we needed. In future, if something is allowing you to do something you shouldn't, maybe tell us right away instead of taking it upon yourself to edit? :)
