We all love a bit of speculation now and then (okay, some really don't, but I do), and to me it looks like the Saints Row series will all launch on Linux together.
What I am saying may sound a little farfetched, but hang in there a moment. I've been following their new builds being posted on SteamDB, and quite regularly they all get updated together. This leads me to believe that not only will they launch together, but I am a feeling that Virtual Programming (one of my new favourite porters) will actually be doing all of them, not just the ones they already announced.
Recently for example, Saints Row IV, Saints Row: Gat out of Hell and Saints Row: The Third all had new private Linux builds posted within seconds of each other. So, unless the publisher is holding back builds from different developers to put them all on Steam to test together, to me that certainly seems like the same developer is responsible for them.
It's an exciting time, and I very much except them to be out before the Steam holiday sale starts.
Remember, this is just a bit of speculation, nothing is confirmed and my info is taken from the excellent SteamDB website. If you don't like speculation, no need to comment telling me you don't, go be productive.
Some you may have missed, popular articles from the last month:
Quoting: burnallI just hope the articles won't turn into speculation news. What about current games, like Valhalla Hills, a good strategy game which was released yesterday similar to Settlers 3 and 4, and no word on it?
I have a life outside of the website (family, food, sleep and everything else), I have to wait for keys to come in sometimes (only got sent Valhalla today), I have to actually play and test the games before writing more than a few words.
Take your pick.

From my perspective if a game isn't "On SteamO+Linux" it doesn't exist from my point of view. (Wine is too funky and Dual Booting interfears with my work flow which requires Linux.)
I always passed over Saints Row billboards but I fear that this month I'll be buying it and loving it! :) It's nice to have so many nice things on Linux.

Hope Valve will push some good deals for Steam Machines on Christmas.
I understand that Valve is not selling Steam Machines themselves, but they do this through 3rd party manufacturers, but imagine how good would be a deal:
For every Steam machine based on the price you have spent on the machine you can choose pack of games supported by the Steam Machines worth 50% of the price you've spent on Steam Machine.
(50 % is just the number I have decided to put here, feel free to imagine different value :D )
And for example you spend 500 dollars on Steam Machine and you can spend 250 dollars on Steam OS compatible titles packs.
You receive packs like:
- all Trine games,
- all Metro games,
- all Saints Row games,
- all Valve games,
- Codemasters bundle (DIRT: Showduwn + GRID Autosport),
- countless number of Indie packs.
Don't you all think that this is the direction they should go in near future? I would say with that attitude they would bring few peoples to Linux gaming, especially those who don't own this games and wonder which platform for gaming should they choose.
Sorry for such a big off-topic :).
Anyway, I've never played Saints Row games and it looks like I know what will I do in near future ;).
Hope this trend (to port the whole series of games) will be what Virtual Programming guys will be used to do. I would love if they would focus on Batman Series and release at the same time as Feral's port of Arkham Knight (I know, I know, AK is a shit ;) ).
Anyway, wish you (and myself) all the best for the upcoming Christmas time!

Depots on SR 2 & 3 (virtual programming)
Saints Row 2 Port Data
Saints Row 2 Port Linux
Saints Row 2 Port Mac
Saints Row: The Third Port Data
Saints Row: The Third Port OS X
Saints Row: The Third Port Linux
Depots on SR 4 & GOH
Saints Row IV Linux
Saints Row IV OS X
Saints Row: Gat out of Hell OSX
Saints Row: Gat out of Hell Linux
Can you see the pattern? VP include the word "Port" on their depots, and also the "Data" depot, so if I had to speculate, I would conclude than the ports of the newer games are being done by different people.

@edo also seems logical, does make me still wonder why all are updated together at times. Maybe the publish is signing off on all test builds at the same time.
I guess we will find out in time, exciting.

I don't think so. It's in " Release Testing" Branches but it may need few days.
I assume it will be released before before the end of the year as announced but the sooner the better.
