Holy cow! Capcom have announced Street Fighter V is coming to Linux & SteamOS which is a series I never thought we would see on Linux.
QuoteHey everyone. I’m excited to announce that Street Fighter V will be officially supporting Steam OS! We are working closely with Valve on this endeavor, and will have more details to announce in the near future, so stay tuned for updates.
Street Fighter V will also support the Steam controller, and you’ll be able to try that out right away during the upcoming beta test that takes place from December 18~20.
See you all online!

I'm pretty happy about this news, as I used to absolutely love these games when I was younger.
It's nice to know that Valve do seem to be having a hand at ports that come along, and I wonder who else is currently moving towards announcing a SteamOS release.

I'm glad I wasn't drinking when I read this. That would've been a mess. This is pretty amazing considering they're not even making an Xbox One version. I almost feel sorry for Microsoft...nah!

I so hope this means that Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen has a proper chance of coming to Linux as well! Both are by Capcom after all.

This is really great news. I was about to buy the PS4 version, but now I've changed my mind.
It's important to notice that this game is being made using Unreal Engine 4. Since it is relatively easy to bring a game on UE4 to Linux I would say that this is the main reason that Capcom decided to do this port.
Keep em coming.

Currently I prefer to wait'n'see... After all the port for Project CARS was announced a while ago, and we're still waiting for it. :'(

On a more positive note, if Capcom brings SF to Linux then maybe, just maybe we could get Dragon's Dogma too? Please? Pretty please with a cherry on top? <begging emoji>

So many guys go crazy about this...
Personally I haven't heard much of Street Fighter till now, when I was young I just played Tekken (if I had too, i liked C&C much more).
But hey, its a big title and reading all the comments implies the devs will get their expenses covered by just the GOL dudes.

+1 Fighting games aren't my thing but if it increases the chanses of "DD: DA" coming to linux, then I'd be willing to buy "SF V" simply to show my support.

It will always surprise me when a Japanese company announces a game for Linux, because it is rare enough to see them even port anything to Windows.

I don't care for this game either, but this is well said. :)
